Lost to the Wind (Kuroko x Reader)

You sprinted down the street, completely enraged that your friends had forgotten you... Again.

Every time they mutter either a lame apology or excuse. More often than not, they claim to not have noticed your absence. They made it seem as if you were never there at all... As if you had absolutely no presence.

You shook your head vigorously, closing your (e/c) eyes. That scenario was more than ridiculous. No presence? There was absolutely no one alive that had such a thing.

Your brain muddled with thoughts, you crossed the street without remembering to watch for cars. Feeling a small but sharp tug on your jacket sleeve, you were pulled away from the oncoming traffic and back onto the curb.

"Um. Miss? Are you okay?" a soft voice asked behind you.

You blinked once, twice, desperate to snap out of your daze and start comprehending what was going on.

Slowly you turned around, your eyes locking on the boy's blue ones. You felt the hair rise on the back of your neck. When had he gotten there? When had he showed up? You had walked right past the spot in which he was standing now yet he hadn't been there before... Or had he?

"Wh-Where did you come from?" you stuttered.

"I was here the whole time" he replied simply.

"But you-" you turned your head to the left and right, finding it impossible for him to have been standing there all this time. "How-?"

You were completely lost for words. He stared at you through light blue bangs, searching your face for a moment.

"Well miss... If you're fine..."

He then turned to the left and started to walk away from you. You reached out for him, your fingertips barely brushing the back of what appeared to be his uniform. Your eyes widened at the realization that he belonged to Seirin, he belonged to your school. You had probably passed this kid in the hallway everyday and just hadn't noticed.

The words caught in your throat as your hand still reached for him but he was to far away.

You barely spoke in a whisper, your words carried out by the cool wind that swept over you.

"Wait... What's your name...?"
