State of Mind (Himuro x Mental/Deranged! Reader)

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense
Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't

"(f/n)! This is ridiculous!"

You glanced up from your pacing to glare up at your boyfriend.

"Are you saying you don't believe me?" you questioned, misdirected rage washing over you.

Himuro sighed, "(f/n), none of what you're saying actually makes sense..."

"Just because you can't understand, doesn't mean it's not true! It doesn't mean I'm lying!"

I invite you to a world where there is no such thing as time
And every creature lives themselves to change your state of mind
And the girl that chased the rabbit drank the wine and took the pill
Has locked herself in limbo to see how it truly feels

"(f/n)! Open up!" Himuro banged loudly on the door, panic taking over his body. "Please! Let me in! Let me help you..."

You could barely hear his muffled voice as you lay on the soft carpet, your thought process dulled severely. Your hand pushed the pill bottle away before you turned your attention to the shadows on the ways and the cracks in the ceiling.

To stand outside your virtue
No one can ever hurt you
Or so they say...

"Stop it!" you screamed.

"No! You stop it!" Himuro yelled back as he restrained you with tears filling his eyes. "Look at what you're doing to yourself!"

And even though she's dreaming she knows
Sometimes the curiosity can kill the soul beneath the pain
And every ounce of innocence is locked inside her brain
And through the looking glass we see she's thankfully returned
But now off with her head I fear is everyone's concern

"Please..." Himuro whispered, pressing his forehead to yours. "Can't you see? You're slowly slipping away from me..."

Your breathing evened out as you stopped struggling to rid yourself of his grasp.

"I love you, (f/n)... I can't let you go, especially not like this" he shook his head sadly. "Not like this. Please, come back to me."

Tears slipped from your eyes and you tighten your fists.

"H-Himuro... I-" you swallowed the lump in your throat. "I don't think I can..."

Himuro's eyes widened slightly before he enveloped you in a hug, pulling you into his chest.

"Please, (f/n). This isn't just hurting you. It's hell watching you do this to yourself."

You see there's no real ending
It's only the beginning

"Himuro, I can't" you said sternly, pushing him away. "You wouldn't understand... You can't. I won't let you..."

"Then promise me something."

"What? You know I can't give you everything you want."

He closed his eyes and sucked in a deep breath.

"Promise me you'll stay with me forever. That you won't allow yourself to fade away..."

You nodded, wiping away your tears and standing up straighter.

"Always."

And contrary wise, what it is it wouldn't be and what it wouldn't be it would

It's like midnight and I'm writing this... Anyways, if it wasn't clear enough, this was a one shot based off of a song, (named at the beginning). The song is pretty awesome actually and I had it stuck in my head. The words just compelled me to write something about it... So that's exactly what I did!
