CHAPTER 46

"You do realize that we'll start school next week?"

[F/N] froze by the word said by me. From the Onsen's hot bath, she had just came back to the room. She stared at me dumbfounded, I knew she forgot about the date; not sure if she even pay attention to it. She slump down on her knees, tears of regret filled her eyes.

"My summer vacation was wasted on a crazy stupid wild goose chase."

[F/N] was acting up, letting herself fall and hit on the floor. I can surely feel her dejected aura, but I can't lie that I have a hard time too. No one, even me were to try to comfort her. Kuro, too; though he's at Hugh's room right now. I rest my elbow on the table and chin on my hand; I stare at her, venting. A scoffed happens to got out from me.

"You're happy seeing me like this, aren't you?" She bluntly stare at me; with a harsh tone to it.

"To how you vent. Its admirably adorable." I chuckled, she wasn't taking it as a compliment.

"That's bully." She jump to her own conclusion.

"If you say so." She put up a frown to how I respond to her every word. But later struck me when I remembered what Tetsu had told me when we went to take a bath. "Tetsu gave you his blood, right?"

"Y--yeah." She hesitated,

"Well, that answers to why the collar appeared so sudden." I recall the moment a few minutes ago, I didn't know Tetsu had already given her his blood. "Don't tell me, that was the reason you went to him." I realized glance at her,

"No. No. No." she waved her hands in front of her; denying my assumption. "It was just a coincidence."

"Hmm..."

"What?" she quickly blinked her eyes, confused to see my reaction.

"If you were hungry, why didn't you tell me?"

"Well, I wasn't particularly hungry--"

I stood up and sat infront of her, pulling her close; purposely made her lean close to my neck. [F/N] froze, it triggered her thirst. Holding herself back, she clench her fist and bit her bottom lip. Of course, I mean for her to be hungry on blood. But, she didn't try to do so.

"You're not my blood bank." She slightly shook her head, as to made it clear to me with no gap distance between us. "Your my brother."

I knew that, but why am I surprised to hear those words. [F/N] huffed out a sigh, instead of biting my neck, she rested her head on my shoulder. Still, the situation is currently making my heart thumping. I hope she doesn't heard--

"Your heart beats... it calms me down somehow, Onii-chan."

'I spoke too soon.'

"I feel more alive, hearing it."

"What are you talking about?" I instantly hold her wrist, checking for pulse. "Where is it?"

"I knew it. You still see me as human, huh?" she pushed me down, towering over me. "Onii-chan. You have to stop that. Your taking this situation too lightly."

Crimson orbs stare down on me. I felt like my body couldn't move, or was I just terrified by those bloodshot eyes. Neither could I evade those stare, I doubt she wasn't the same at the time. Her hand reach to cupped my face, my eyes later drawn to the healed cut in her arm. [F/N] closed in, my eyes unconsciously closed to have seen her at such distance. That was, until I head a scoffs. My eyes opened back up to see her in laughter.

"My bad, Onii-chan." She got off from me and sat beside my lying body. "Here." She bought my hand to her side neck, I sense a pulse there but it was weak. "You could've push me away, but you didn't. Why is that?"
