Darkness.

Like the usual, all Kei could sense was nothingness. Her eyes has already bathed with the black eternity for too long. The sound of silence has already been deafening to hear. Hell, she longs for the warmth, however intense it is, just to ease the cold. All she could do was crouch on the empty ground her feet can feel.

She was getting what she wanted...

The time in the void was indefinite. Even the owner could not tell how much hours have already passed by. Has it been days already? Weeks? Months? She didn't know, only that she has been bitterly lonely since the last visit she got—the irony she feels as she actually created this lapse because she really did not want to face anyone anymore.

Deep inside, she secretly yearns to be saved.

But no one is really coming to get her...right?

"Kei."

The female twitches as the deep, melodic voice. Her ears perk at the already foreign tone, her body twitches at the sudden call of her name. For once, she finally opens her eyes to look at the figure but as she does so, the light emanating from the newcomer's back, specifically from the all too familiar door she used to hop into other people's dreams, blinds her sight temporarily. She takes her time into adjusting to the strangely vibrant gleam.

With widened eyes, she figures out who spoke of her name. The height, the stature—she knows those features too well.

Chuckling dryly, Kei spats, "It's you...again. No nicknames this time?"

The guest does not reply but rather closes their gap and crouches down to her level.

Kei just traces everything with her eyes. With a weak voice, she whimpers, "How long has it been?"

There was a brief pause before an answer.

"Two years."

"I see..." Kei's voice trails off, her eyes darting blankly to the ground. "How is...everyone?"

"They're fine, I suppose. The batch entered the field of work. The league has been... passive."

Kei zips her mouth, unable to process the idea. Her absence has been too long, after all. She missed a lot of major events in the lives of her loved ones. What hero agency did Neito and his friends choose? Has Momo built her own? Did Mina continue her partnership with other 1-A students in the job? Has Izuku reached his predecessor's dream of becoming the symbol of peace yet? How was his competition with Katsuki who always wanted to become the number one? Or perhaps with Shoto who aimed to become a top hero to spite his father? Have they made up yet? Is Toya alright? Has he finally revealed himself to his family? How was Shota's life improvement going? Has he finally adjusted with parenting Eri? Has Hitoshi finally reached his life-long dream in becoming a hero?

She wouldn't know the answer to these questions. Nor would she dare to ask.

They already had their own lives after all—one which she was not a part of.

Internally happy to at least know that the people she once cared for now started stepping out of the academy, her eyes finally break out. Kei did not know that she was crying until a warm hand cups her cheek.

Looking up, she sees a gentle smile and a tender set of eyes.

"Everyone is waiting for you."

Kei's waterworks burst more upon hearing this revelation. 'Was I not forgotten?' she ponders deeply. "That's impossible. No one will actually do that. I've been away for too long."

She hears a hum, a soothing one.

"You don't need to worry such trivial things. I am willing to 'remember' you again with open arms."

This person... has always been her emotional support, accepting of who she is—her flaws most especially, understanding of her hidden and suppressed nature, not fearing of the consequences which her presence may bring and always finding a way to bring peace to her.

Maybe this is the way it is.

"A-Are you sure? You wouldn't mind everything that happened in the past?" Kei's voice cracks, recalling how she was so unfit and undeserving for such kind person.

Kei sees the figure leaning closer to her and stopping only a hair length from her face.

"Come back to me, Kei."

She feels a soft pair of lips against hers. Once again, her feelings was shared between them—the true ones she once kept to herself, the genuine ones she feels for this person.

Her pain. Her regret. Her comfort. Her joy.

The owner of the lips against hers... was her true home.

"Let's...go home."

Fun fact: As to how Kei Yagami hops into strangers' dreams (like Kai Chisaki and Tamaki Amajiki)... Hitoshi Shinso once revealed that he was able to call onto Kei in his dreams by remembering her distinct features like scent (Kei wears vanilla/lavender scented clothes due to her guardian's influence) and physical characteristics (like her mint green eyes). There were subtle encounters that made the characters remember these features and subconsciously recall it during their sleep.
