"Yeah. Apparently, we don't just spill the tea with ignorance- we throw the whole damn pot!"
Re-entering the Throne room of Sanctums castle, my attention falls around the dead Disciples pulled aside over the floor. Suppose they'd not be quick enough on the anti-toxin. From their bloodied attached weapons I'm thinking that manic episode which we've all been through has occurred right where we stand. Stepping further from behind the Disciples who have to lead their way inside, they slow to a stop. Met by Indra she looks to me like a one-woman army. Rifle in hand Gabriel and Jackson remain protectively behind her, Indra looking rather murderous "Where's my daughter?"
"Who the hell is your daughter?"
"Indra hold on", Bellamy extends his hand carefully "We didn't know she was missing until today. Nobody did." Her gun remained steadily on Bellamy, he pressed assuredly "We're going to get everyone back." Stuck trapped in her hard sharp stare, I listen to Bellamy's request "Put down the gun."
"It's okay Indra", Clarke voices beside me "He's going to help us."
Indra doesn't move for a long moment. Her gaze flickering around I know she's trying to decide if any of these people can be trusted. But it's not that simple. Trust is earned. So at the request of Clarke, Indra hesitantly lowers her gun. Everyone else in the room falling off edge. "Do you have the Flame?" Gabriel wanders from behind Indra, the question aimed at Cadogan.
"I do."
Suddenly I feel my heart pick back up its pace. Clenching my sweaty hands I watch Gabriel's gaze lower. Flickering around his feet. I know that look. I've spent five years with the man- I know that look. He's wrestling with something. "Gabriel" I lowly voice through the silent room, big brown eyes lifting to connect with mine when I warn "Don't."
But he doesn't listen. Breaking the hold of my gaze, Gabriel voice "I believe I can restore the damaged code with this." That's when I finally take note of the hooked up Etchy-sketch beside him. The damn Etchy-sketch. He knows his way around the Eligius tech better than any of us. They're not a doubt in my mind that Gabriel could hand the code for the final war over to Cadogan.
