"Oooh, Sensei... you feel so good inside of me..."

Iruka tried to keep the cringe from his face.  It was the first time he had been laid in a month, so he had to take what he could get, which, tonight, was a grown woman he didn't know calling him Sensei.  Another shitty date, but at least this one brought him home with her. This was the third date that Kakashi had set up for him this summer and he already knew this wasn't going to ask this one out again.

"Fuck me, Sensei! Fuck me, Sensei!"

If it didn't feel good, he probably would've gone flaccid inside of her. He hated when a woman used Sensei as a playful pet name, and this was the second one this summer.

Yeah, he was done.  Time to wrap this up.

Her back arched as she came, constricting his cock tightly. Good. He groaned and arched his back as well, hoping to put on enough of a convincing show that he could end this session. After he stopped his fake moaning, he flopped down next to her. She was breathing heavily with her eyes closed as he stealthily took the condom off and trashed it in the can next to her bed. She turned to face him when he laid back down.

"That was amazing, Sensei. I hope I can see you again soon."

She was pretty, with short blonde hair and big green eyes, but it just wasn't a fit for him. He had a lot of trouble sleeping with someone that he felt nothing for, even though he always tried.

"I'll have to let you know. The new school year starts tomorrow. Thanks for a fun night."

She pouted at him as he got up to retrieve his clothes and leave.

"Bye, Sensei."

"... Bye."

He quickly dressed and walked out the front door of her apartment, hands in his pockets. It was at least midnight. The fireflies were out, lighting the night alongside the streetlamps. He was alone and now sexually frustrated as well. He couldn't have finished inside of her, even if he had wanted to: anytime someone called him Sensei, it made him think of his students.

He was actually very glad to be returning to his classroom tomorrow to see his kids. This would be their second year at the ninja academy, and he was becoming attached to them Even that little shithead Naruto, who gave him so much trouble. He was trying not to harbor any animosity toward the blonde haired kid, but it was proving to be difficult. The beast that Naruto unknowingly harbored inside of himself was the same beast that killed his parents eight years ago.

It had only been eight years, but it felt like a lifetime of loneliness. Being an orphan at eleven, he struggled with the circumstances, causing a ton of trouble for the Third Hokage as well as his own teacher that final year before becoming a Genin. Keeping that in mind, he was trying not to be too hard on the boy, but some days that was difficult. At times like these, he felt like the Nine Tails had completely decimated any chance of normalcy he may have had. He was slowly turning into Kakashi, which was someone he didn't want to become. Kakashi was one of his good friends, but his friend jumped into women's beds like his life depended on it.  However, it was always the same story: after a few weeks at the most, he would move on. Maybe it was time for Iruka to cut this part of his life out and focus on what was good: the Academy. If a woman ever came across his path that he actually felt a connection with, then great. But no more of these set up dates. No more searching. He could be content with the life of a school teacher, he thought.

"Hey, how did it go with Koji last night?"

Kakashi had caught up with him as he made his way to the Academy, trying to gather his thoughts before he stood in front of his class of students.  He looked over at his friend,

"I appreciate you setting me up with her, but it just wasn't there. I even made it to her bed, but I couldn't finish. She kept calling me Sensei."

He was a little afraid that he would upset his friend, but Kakashi only shrugged.

"I can't say much... I let the person on the other end of my red string slip through my fingers years ago and now she's gone."

Kakashi's face fell as those words fell from his own lips.  Iruka realized why Kakashi did it; he was miserable.  Iruka took a deep breath, continuing.

"I think I'm just going to focus on the Academy for now. Maybe my soulmate exists, maybe someday I'll find her, or maybe there's no one on the other end of my red string.  And, I think as long as I'm teaching, I'll be okay.  My Will of Fire will keep me going: educating the next generation of shinobi."

He gave Kakashi a small smile.  Kakashi ran a hand through his hair, the thought of whichever woman he considered his soulmate obviously haunting him.

"I don't know if you're more or less fortunate for never having met your soulmate. At least you aren't tortured by the memory of her every time you hear another woman moan your name."

Kakashi's words sent a cold shill up his spine, even in the heat of August.  Kakashi sighed.

"Good luck with you first day back. I'm headed out, so you probably won't see me for a while. Anbu shit."

Iruka bid his friend goodbye before focusing back on his first day of class with his second year students.
