I opened the suitcase, a huge groofy grin still spread across my face. After taking a quick shower I was refreshed and ready to get back in my own clothes. I chose a pair a of black skinny jeans, a lace strap top and a flowing victorian style see through top with puffy arms and black laced collars. I matched this with some black ankle length boot and tied my hair up in a messy bun with a single strand of curly hair gliding down the side of my face. Then I applied a bit of light make up and mascara with some cherry red elegant lip gloss. I stepped out feeling good to be back in my own clothes and strutted to the living room.
'So what are we...' I trailed of noticing I was talking to no-one as the room was empty except for my presence. A pair of hands covered my eyes and the smile returned to my face as I turned around to meet his fetching blueish green eyes.
'It's a surprise just wait and see..' he grinned taking my hand in his and dragging me outside as I just about managed to grab my dark brown leather jacket. The sun was setting even though it was only 5 in the afternoon. We walked until my feet were sore but I didn't dare slow down as we passed through the thick forest. I clung on to him and ignored his jokes on me being 'clingy'
As we entered the clearing a gasp escaped my lips as the most beautiful scene unfolded before my eyes.
'I hope you like it, I mean it was the best I could supposing I'm kind of kidnapping you,' he said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
'It's perfect,' I sighed sitting down near the picnic table he had set up. I met his eyes and got lost in them. He was wearing a blue shirt with the sleeved rolled up and dark blue jeans His hair was messily flopped on his forehead like he had just got out of the shower. He took a seat in front of me and started talking automatically.
'The place we're staying in is my families summer cabin. We used to come here every summer, me my mum, my dad, and Chace. One summer I woke up all excited for the usual trip and rushed to my parents bedroom, I was about to go in until I heard shouting. I was only 10 and didn't really understand what was going on but all I knew was that there was a serious problem because I heard glass breaking and I had never heard my dad shouting that much before. My mums cries ran through my head and I wanted to stop them but I couldn't move. I was scared. Before I knew it the door swung open and my mum stepped out wiping her tears away. She saw me and knelt down and whispered four words to me that I still remember till this day, 'never be like him' then she just left before I could say anything. After that things got worse my dad started drinking and got involved in his companies and work, when he was at home he would only love Chace. I hated him because he said bad things about mum and said she left us because she was a cheat and bad. Chace believed his words and started hating mum and me because I still loved her. My hatred for my dad grew by every passing day and I didn't want anything to do of him as me. I didn't want to become like him. The night I crashed your car I was drunk because my dad had just bought Chace another company. He didn't even give a second glance towards me. I just needed to take my mind of things. Then this kidnap plan evolved and I went through with it. I just don't want to become like him. When I turned 14 I found out my mum passed away. He didn't let me go to her funeral...he said she deserved this and should have died ages ago. I couldn't do anything but from that day I swore I would hate him and make his life miserable for the rest of his days even if it meant I had to go through Chace.' he took a deep breath and paused looking out onto the city on fire below. His eyes had a vacant look in them and an sadness which only I could read. He had told me his deepest secret, I just wanted to erase his pain away. There was a silence between us but it was a comfortable one.
I edged my way towards him and sat next to him taking his hand in mine. I squeezed it to reassure him he had me. Resting my head on his shoulder I silently watched the sun set with him and the sky turn a hue of pink and blues.
'I never saw my mum she died after giving birth to me. My dad looked after me as if I was his most prized possession. He always used to tell stories of my mum and how she would be so proud of me. I saw him as both my mum and da but there was always this empty feeling that wouldn't go away. Then he met this woman who he claimed was someone he met at work. She always tried to talk to me as if she knew me and made my dad spend a lot of time with her. He did his best to get me to like her but there was just something strange about her which I couldn't digest. Over time I got further and further away from him as he got closer to her. He didn't attend my school plays anymore and went around the world on holidays leaving me with a nanny. She had taken him away, then one day I finally gathered the courage to tell him how I felt and he confronted her. He said he couldn't just leave me anymore and stopped spending as much time with her. She got upset and while my dad was out on a business trip tried to...hurt me..she said if I said anything to him there would be consequences. My nanny saw the whole thing and told my dad as soon as I came back. He told her to leave and she took the knife and slit my wrist saying I was useless and a waste of life. We got her arrested and I barely survived due to the loss of blood. Things started getting better and he married my nanny. I was so happy because she was like a mother for me. She loved me like her own and still does, till this day,' I concluded tears pricking my eyes and threatening to fall. Alex held my chin and tilted it so I would meet his eyes.
'That is why I love you, don't you ever thing you are nothing because to me you are everything!' he whispered a genuine smile etched across his handsome face. My eyes blurred as I managed to whisper the next few words out in a croaky emotion filled voice...'I love you' Yes it's true I had fallen for him and there was no turning back now because I had fallen for my enemy. As I breathed those words out his lips met mine in a searing kiss. This time it was full of need and passion. He pulled me into him and I did the same. I just needed to be his as I traced my fingers through his silky and massaged the back of his name with my other making a moan escape his lips. I smirked and pulled back staring at his lust filled eyes. We decided to eat and dug in. It was burger, chips and ketchup but still romantic. After that we just sat cuddled up to each other looking at the lit city below resting underneath the stars.
