'Seth are you ok?" I asked feeling uncomfortable and uneasy.
'I'm fine Anster how you doinn?' he replied to my question with one of his own, his words slurred and stretched out as I strained to make sense of them.
'Seth have you been taking drugs?' I gulped noticing the white patches on his sofa.
'Oh come onnn Ani..li..live a little...!' he stammered then burst into laughter spinning from side to side as I stood rooted to the spot watching the scene unfold in front of me.
'Look Seth I think you need to-'
'No Anster you don't need to worry about me I'm fine how are you..is..is..Alex taking care of you?' he continued through gritted teeth literally spitting Alex through.
'He..he's fine..look Seth I really think you should-' I started off once again trying to get him to sit down before he hurt himself but was rudely cut off again.
'Shhh let me...' he whispered huskily pulling me into my arms as he buried his head in the crook of my neck breathing in my scent. I struggled to get out of his clasp but it was no use my feeble attempts had no effect.
'Seth let go off me...what are you doing?' I demanded trying to shake him off me but failing miserably.
'Anster chill man I'm just,' he trailed of snaking both his arms around me so I was now totally engulfed in his embrace. My arms were in front of me, flat against his chest as I tried to create a distance between us. His eyes were dark and sad at the same time and a single tear fell down them, as he whispered 'I love you Anster' with a small, crooked sad smile then collapsed in a heap on the floor leaving me to try hold him up.
"Seth . . ." I gasped as I dropped down next to him.
I shook his body and began tapping his shoulder.
"Seth . . . get up." I managed to say, I could feel tears slowly building up. I had to be strong and hold them back. "Seth. Wake up."
I took my phone out of back pocket and called 9-1-1.
"Hello, what's the emergency?" A kind feminine voice asked.
"My friend just collapsed." I said beginning to hyperventilate.
"Ma'am, please calm down. Tell me exactly what happened." She commanded.
"My friend was acting weird and he collapsed. This . . . isn't like him. Help. Please. Help." I gasped for air.
"Ma'am, we're tracking you right now. We'll have an ambulance be there in a few moments." She explained.
I quickly hung up and wrapped my arms around Seth. I placed his head on my lap and began stroking his hair.
"Everything will be okay." I sniffed. "Seth, you're the strongest guy I know inside and out. You WILL make it."
Suddenly, the front door bashed open and three ambulance workers and a doctor came rushing to us. Two held the stretcher while the other two lifted Seth off my lap and carefully placed him on the stretcher. The doctor checked for a pulse and then nodded.
"Can I come?" I asked on the brink of tears still sitting on the floor.
"Are you family?" The tall blonde male doctor asked me.
