'Hey is it true about you and Alex Pettyfer?' a short brunette whispered to me as Mr Tibbit continued writing out the exercises we were going to get instructed to complete in a few minutes.
'What?' I squeaked in surprise looking at her wide eyed as she narrowed her eyes at me.
'So it's true?' she asked, probing me further. Regaining my conscience I finally managed to shake my head as a way of saying 'no'
'Oh..' she sighed in relief almost slumping back into her seat. After a few seconds I poked her almost sleeping figure as she grumbled then looked back up to me.
'What?'
'Why did you ask me that?' I questioned wording my question very carefully.
'You don't know?' she gaped.
'Urm...no...' while she continued staring at me indecorously, making me shift in my seat uncomfortably.
'It's all over the papers! Your famous girl!' she loud whispered, causing me to slip into a state of shock and Mr Tibbit to turn back clear his throat and give our class the evil eye.
As the bell rang I got up from my seat desperate to hear if she had heard about this and find a paper!
'Hey babe I didn't know you were Pettyfer's type..' a tall blonde named Rob smirked at me then jogged away after smacking my arse. I blushed a deep shade of scarlet and gripped my books closer to me scared of what I would have to face next.
As soon as I stepped foot into the canteen whispers erupted as groups huddled closer together occasionally giving me a quick glance. Putting my head low I took the tray and continued down the lunch line paying for an apple and slice of pizza then heading over to my friends table, making sure to avoid all the questioning looks.
'Hey are you alright? Did you hear?' Steph asked her voice filled with worry but hinting curiosity.
'Yes as if I haven't that about 50 times before!' I said takin an elongated sigh then continued, 'Can I see?'
'Yea sure!' she chirped pulling out her phone and fiddling with it then finally handing it over to me with a click.
It was a newspaper article on the sun which had a picture of me and him on it hand in hand outside his father's office and in big captions the title was 'Two Lovebirds Making A Seal For Their Companies' I read on as they specifically focussed things about our relationship that even I didn't know. The in the end there was a photo of Alex and the caption in bold read 'Was This A Plan By Thomson To Use Hid Daughter As A Business Tactic?' My mouth hung open at his words as I couldn't believe what I was hearing! They thought I had something to do with the kidnapping. I gripped the phone tight in my hand as Steph finally pulled it out of my vice like grip.
'Why me?' I moaned resting my head in my hands. I felt a presence behind me but I could tell from the smell of the boyish cologne. Instantly the faint memory of that dream came rushing back to me as I tried to shake it out of my head and remind myself it was only a dream.
'She saw it?' he questioned his voice directed to the person sitting opposite is who was most probably Seth.
'Hey Ani man don't worry this is bullsh*t, media are a bunch of saddos who have nothing else to talk about then intrude on others lives don't worry man!' he tried reassuring me as I groaned and lifted my head up.
Whispers were roaming round the room as I became the topic of the day.
'Geography next brace yourself!' Steph warned trying to change the subject just as the bell rang. I hadn't touched my food and just apologised to the children of Africa while throwing it away. The class was all the way on the other side of the school and I did my best to walk fast ignoring the stares I was getting.
