I thought about objecting but instantly wiped the idea from my mind after seeing his fearsome expression, deciding it was just best to listen instead. Glancing back a few times I continued creeping out of the room glancing back every now and them but finding them still frozen in the same position. I jarred the door but didn't close it properly so there was still a miniture gap to have a peek through.
As soon as my presence left the room I heard a loud shuffle as I noticed Stew had pulled himself away from his grip but not before Aex's fist connected with the mans jaw. I winced at the action, due to the fact that it seemed like Alex had permentely dislocated his jaw. Stew hid his pain and instead ducked to avoid another blow while sneaking one in to Alex's stomach. I covered my mouth as a fearful gasp escaped my lips. Alex was bending over clutching his stomach, no doubt the punch had been powerful enough to knock the wind out of his windpipe. Stew took this oppurtunity to wipe the blood of his face and pack a kick at Alex's jaw. This was enough to get Alex on the floor groaning in pain.
All of a sudden Stew craned his oval head my way and met my gaze before I had the chance to shy away or hide causing a massive grin to appear on his face. I gulped and realised I had a few droplets of tears sliding down my cheeks, I wanted to help Alex desperately but didn't know how! Stew had exited the bedroom and emerged into the living room by this time. His grin was malicious and eyes full of the wrong intentions. Grabbing the nearest thing to me (Which happened to be a lamp) I chucked it at him and tried to get around him to Alex, alas he managed to catch me just in time. His arm looped around my waist as I screamed for Alex. His hand muffled my scream as I flung around desperately in his arms. His free hand started curling around my waist as I tried to bite his hand, yet failed miserably.
As we fought within eachother I managed to navigate towards the bedroom again and met with a figure of Alex trying to sit up, blood dripping down his face. Tears streamed down my face as I reached out for him but got dragged away.
'LET ME GO!' I screeched clawing at his hand though my voice came out partly squashed.
'I don't think so pumpkin..' he laughed slipping his hand under my top as I pushed away in disgust.
'Alex!' I called out my voice strained and broken. Suddenly the grusome feel of Stews hands was gone and I looked around to see what had happened. My eyes met with those of Alex's half closed ones, a light smile on his tired and beaten face. Being careful to be gentle he yanked me out of Stew's arms and into his own. A challenging grin spread across the imbeciles face as he reached out to get hold of me again but I got pushed back behind Alex just in time as he grabbed his hand in a blood stopping grip.
'I don't think so!' Alex spat as he drew back his hand and packed a massive punch on Stews face. The punch had such an impact the it knocked Stew completely out cold without even giving his a chance to cry. An ugly bruise was forming on his face the size of a fist as Alex stood next to him getting ready to blow him another couple of hits.
'No! Wait Alex,' I interrupted holding him back and calming him with a few soothing words, 'It's okay Alex he's out cold, we don't want to kill him!' With a few minutes of thought he finally loosened up and sat down on the bed as I went to get an ice pack from the cooler and wrapped it in a thin cloth.
'Here,' I said placing the pack on his head as he winced away in pain. After scolding him he finally settled down and we sat in silence on the bed side by side, staring down at the still figure.
'Oh God what have I done!' Alex suddenly whispered shaking his head in regret as placed dmy arm on his shoulder in a comforting manner.
'Alex what do we do now?' I asked then continued, 'What money was he talking about? What do you owe him?' I bombarded him with more questions then he could answer.
'I don't know all I do know is that I have to get you back to your dad before the others come too,' he murmmured taking out our suitcases and packing verything up in a hurry.
'What do you mean "the others" there are more!' I exclaimed in horror standing like a statue in front of him. How could there be more? What had I gotten myslef into?
'Yes, yes Analise there are more now will you help with the packing or just stand there watching?' he questioned looking up at me in an annoyed fashion.
'Yeah okay okay!' I replied pulling out more clothes from the cupboard and messily stuffing them into the suitcase, not even bothering to fold. After we finished I stepped over the man and rolled the suitcase around him with Alex. Walking out the front door I took a final glance back then followed him to the car. Both of us got inside and stored the luggage at the back, as Alex turned the key but the ignition roared then dies back down. He tried again and the same thing happened while I looked at Alex in alarm. After a few more useless tries he hit the steering wheel in frustration and clambered out.
'The cars dead we're walking from here!' he announced through gritted teeth and got out his single mini suitcase along with my smallest one, then started walking down the hill towards the main road.
'Alex what are you doing? What about the other belongings!' I shouted wide-eyed.
'We can't carry all that luggage by hand so we have to leave some behind now hurry up before he wakes up!' he ordered as I gawked at him but quickly followed.
'Where are we going?' I questioned.
'I don't know.'
'How long are we going to be walking?'
'I don't know.'
'Do you think they're going to catch us?'
'I don't know dammit Analise! I'm not psychic so stop asking so many questions!' he blew up and then pinched the bridge of his nose, 'Look I'm sorry it's just this wann't supposed to happen, you weren't supposed to get involved...'
'I know...but I don't regret it because it means I get you,' I smiled cupping his cheek with my right hand while he held my left in his.
'I love you so much it actually hurts!' he groaned while I giggled and kissed him on the lips. He dropped his bag and snaked his arm around my waist pulling me closer into him. My mouth opened giving him entrance as the kiss deepened but I pulled back to stop him getting carried away, even though I had to fight with myself. A groan escaped him as he tried to kiss me again but I stopped him and gestured that we should continue walking forward.
'Let's go romeoo!' I sung, laughing and pulling him forward. The main road came up and we looked around and waited for cars yet none came so we decided to walk further, there was no time to stop and wait for Stew to find us. It was painstakingly long but we eventually arrived at a bus stop. Sitting on our suitcases we waited for the bus to arrive. In the meantime Alex put on a discreet hoody while I wrapped a scarf around my head and decided to hold a napkin on my face as a little disguise.
The bus finally arrived and we got on paying for a ticket and went to sit on one of the seats in the middle, in a feeble attempt to blend in as much as possible. Everyone seemed to be busy in their own lives and oblivious to the people around them which was good for our current situation. After all I did have a large amount of money after me. Watching the scenary my eyes started drooping as my mind dropped onto Alex's shoulder and my mind drifted into dreamland.
