꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂"Find anything?"
Hermione shook her head as her eyes continued to scan the book shelf for books on elves. Y/N huffed before turning back to the book shelf, her finger skimming the spines of the books to look for anything on house elves.
Hermione had dragged Y/N to the library after dinner to do more research for her club, S.P.E.W. Y/N of course said yes seeing as though the girl was still distraught from earlier in Moody's class.
"What exactly am I looking for again?"
"Anything you can find on elf labor or elves in general," Hermione said as she slowly picked out a book, Y/N's eyes lighting up at the sight of an elf book. She slowly raised her hand to the shelf as she gently pulled the brown book from in between the others, her fingers feeling the hard cover. She picked it out of the shelf and turned to Hermione who seemed to be reading a book of her own.
"Found one."
Hermione looked up to Y/N and nodded before she grabbed her hand, pulling the Ravenclaw to a nearby table to read. Hermione sat as she pulled Y/N to sit in the seat next to her, their hands still interlocked. As Y/N sat down, she took her hand out of Hermione's to open and read the book in her hands, Hermione slightly frowning at the loss of touch.
Y/N started to look through the book as her eyes scanned the page, her bottom lip trapped between her teeth as she concentrated. Hermione watched her, the Gryffindor's eyes glued to her side profile, more specifically her lips. She watched how Y/N's teeth caught her bottom lip in between them, a small feelings of butterflies erupting in the pit of Hermione's stomach at the sight before she slightly shook her head and turned to start reading her book.
Y/N continued to read the book in front of her, her fingers running themselves over the slightly worn out pages of the book. She was too focused to realize Hermione was staring at her, her mind solely focused on finding whatever Hermione needed.
"Thank you."
Y/N turned her head to see Hermione looking at her with a small smile, Y/N's eyebrows creasing together in confusion.
"For...?"
"This," Hermione said, nodding her head in the direction of the books, "Ron and Harry didn't take it seriously when I told them about it."
Y/N sent Hermione a small nod with a smile, "Of course, it's no problem really."
"It's just," Hermione said, "I don't feel that it's fair that elves be worked this hard. They deserve the same rights and treatment as us, as anyone else. It just makes me irritated."
