"Honestly, I didn't know such a small cut could leave a scar like that."
Y/N looked up to Cedric, the boy's hand raising to brush over the mark from the first task. His fingers lightly traced the shape over her left eyebrow, his finger following the mark from the dragon's talon.
It was now December, exactly two weeks after the first task. None of the champions have figured out any of the clues in their eggs, the four of them getting slightly frustrated. Y/N got close once when she hit a certain spot, but the egg only coiled up when she saw a piece of writing in it.
Fleur and Viktor haven't gotten close either, both of them only being able to open the egg. Cedric was somewhere near Y/N with the process of the egg, they had discovered it together when they were hanging out in the Hufflepuff room together, the two randomly pushing and turning the egg in hopes of anything happening.
Y/N watched as Cedric's fingers delicately ran over her skin, his eyebrows knit together as he thought. She smiled, a soft laugh leaving her lips at the concentrated expression of the boy.
"What're you thinking about?"
Cedric flickered his eyes down to the girl, his hand going back to its position by his side. He shrugged for a second before he finally spoke.
"Nothing really, I just don't like seeing you all banged up."
Y/N snickered, "Please, this is nothing. I think it looks kind of cool."
Cedric rolled his eyes, a small smile on his lips.
"You're unbelievable."
"You still love me," Y/N said in a challenging tone, Cedric locking an elbow around her head as he started to ruffle her hair.
"That I do."
Y/N giggled as she tried to wriggle free of his hold, the two giggling messes in the middle of the courtyard, some people watching with smiles at the two students. Y/N got free of the boy's hold, small laughs still leaving the both of their lips.
"What class do you have next?"
Y/N looked down at her phone to see the time, "Care for Magical Creatures with Hagrid, you?"
"Potions," Cedric said, Y/N remembering he was two years above her in grades. She nodded as the two walked around the courtyard.
"Can I walk you to your class, Potions is on the way?"
Y/N nodded her head with a smile as the two left the courtyard and into a hallway, the two walking down it silently as people walked by.
