Chapter 29

|| Pony's POV ||

It was 6:00 pm. I had only meant to take a shower, but it turned into an evening crisis. As I was getting out of the shower, I realized my brown roots were starting to show again. My eyes widened in horror as I scrambled to get dressed.

"Darry! Darry!" I shouted, running from the bathroom.

Darry sprang up from his place in the chair. "What? What's wrong?" He asked worriedly.

"My roots are showing!" I shrieked.

Darry's whole demeanor changed. "Oh, well in that case, tomorrow we'll have Two Bit take you to the drugstore or something. Blonde or Brunette?" He wondered.

I debated. Mel loved my blonde hair, said it made me look older. But she loved my brown hair because she said it reminded her of the younger days.

"I think blonde. But maybe brunette," I replied.

"I think you should go brunette," Soda intervened, throwing himself on the couch.

"No, blonde," Dally yelled from the kitchen.

"Brunette!" I heard Two Bit shout from the bathroom.

"Guys!" I shouted, running my fingers through my hair. "You're not helping!"

They all grumbled and continued back to whatever hey were doing before. O glanced at Johnny and he pointed to the top of his head.

"Blonde?" I asked.

He nodded and I smiled.

"Mel?"

Another nod.

"You okay, Johnnycake?"

Shrug.

"Wanna talk at the lot?" I asked.

He shook his head. I sighed and gave him a small smile which he returned. I slowly made my way to my room and plopped onto my bed.

I reached into my sweatshirt pocket and pulled out Mel's letter. I examined it over and over again, wishing she was here with us.

"Why did you have to go?" I wondered out loud.

Pony, I'm always here, watching and protecting you, I promise. I love you, forever.

I'm soooo tired and I have dance at 8am tomorrow and it's like 12am yay.

Um so if I have nightmares because of annabelle... creepy movie don't watch it unless you like to shit your pants :)
