| Mel's POV |
I opened my eyes and glanced around. Why is everyone sad?
"Ponyboy," I whispered. "Ponyboy," I said more forcefully.
I slowly got up and made my way to Johnny.
"Johnnycake, I'm ok!" I said excitedly.
But he never looked up.
"Why won't anyone talk to me!" I shouted.
I turned towards my bed and gasped.
It can't be. No no no no no. I ran my fingers through my hair and sobbed.
Why me? Why'd this have to happen to me?
"Ponyboy," I sobbed, falling to my knees.
Once I had collected myself a bit, I made my way to Two Bit.
"Stay strong, Two. No one leaves for good, you are not alone. I love you," I whispered to him.
He stopped crying. he wiped his eyes and regained himself. "I love you, Melody." He whispered back, but to the sky.
I let a tear slip down my face and stepped back. I laid on Pony's shoulder and sat and stared for while, just listening to his quiet sobs.
"I love you. No one will ever take your place in my heart." he whispered.
"I'll watch over you, nothing will hurt you." I whispered.
We all sat for a little while longer, just thinking. I was happy. I was with everyone I loved.
A bright light shown to my left. I looked towards it and smiled.
"I love you all," I whispered once more, and stepped into the light.
