After a week of moping about, Darry forced me back to school. Everything went back to normal, except Mel wasn't around, and that changed everything. I didn't talk to anyone in school except Johnny, when he went.
Cherry was always trying to get my attention but I was not giving her attention.
"Ponyboy!" She called after me in the hall.
I sped up, quickly shoving through people and slipping out the door, looking for Dally and Johnny.
"Ponyboy!" She shouted.
"What?" I yelled back, annoyed.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. I wish I would have been nicer to her." she sighed and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Yeah right. We don't need your damn charity." I snarled at her and I turned away, ignoring her calls and protests.
I found Dally and Johnny and hurried towards his car. Johnny waved to me and Dally gave me a nod.
"What did Cherry want? You look upset," Johnny commented.
"She said she was sorry for my loss. Screw that," I muttered.
"She's a cute though," Dally smirked and pulled out a cancer stick.
"Whatever lets just go home," I groaned desperately.

When we arrived back home, we were surprised to see Darry's truck outside the house. We quietly snuck inside and looked around for Darry. Dally snapped his fingers once and motioned for us to come just outside the bathroom.
We peered in to find Darry flexing and making faces at himself in the mirror.
We all burst out laughing and Darry jumped about five feet in the air.
"Uh-hey guys, what's up?" He asked shakily.
"Is this what you do when we're gone?" I asked, trying to control myself.
"Maybe," Darry admitted shyly and started laughing as well.
We hear the door bang open and Soda and Steve run into the house frantically.
"Darry!" Soda yelled.
"What's up, Little Buddy?" He asked.
"Is Two Bit here?" Steve shouted,his eyes blown up.
"No." Johnny answered, confused.
"His mom called and said he won't open the door." Soda said quietly.
"What does that mean?" Dally asked.
"He won't reply, either."

Sorry there has been no author's note but the last chapters have been real heavy and I felt like an author's note would have ruined the mood.
