Alexander was up late, working when Eliza walked in.
"Hello, my love, what are you doing up?" Alexander asked her.
"I could ask you the same thing," Eliza responded.
"I need to finish this paper," Alexander told her.
She hugged him from behind, "What you need is to get some rest. I guarantee you that paper will be better if you aren't sleep deprived when you write it."
"I'll be fine," he insisted.
"No, you won't. If you go back to sleep I'll make french toast for breakfast," Eliza bargained. French toast was Alexander's favorite breakfast.
Alexander considered this, "Alright fine. Just let me finish this sentence really quick."
"No," Eliza said, taking the quill from his hand.
Eliza dragged him back to bed and they cuddled together.
Eliza snuggled closer to him, "Isn't this so much better than working on some paper?"
Alexander didn't respond since he had already fallen asleep.
"I told you you need sleep," she said, kissing his forehead and going to bed.
They stayed like that for longer than they should have, neither wanting to leave the other.
