Rushing out of the car, I left Carrie with Ryan. I knew that he could handle her and that they would be right behind me any second now.

"Hello, hello!" I ran upto the desk and leaned over, poking the receptionist. "Where's Jake? He was on the stretcher and had gotten beaten up, where is he!?"

"Calm down madame, he is just down the hall and to the right," she pointed down the long corridor and I sped off.

"Jake, Jake!?" I knew he couldn't hear me, but I thought that someone would of helped me. "JAKE!"

"Jess, down here," I looked behind me and Ryan was outside one of the rooms with Carrie on his back. "He's in there," I followed Ryan's gaze and opened up the door.

A mask was attached to his face giving him the oxygen he needed, and stitches were painted along his face and arms. I could see a cast around his wrist and a bandage wrapped around his torso where his ribs will be. "Oh Jake," I melted inside and flopped down to the floor next to the bed. "I'm so sorry for what I've done, I shouldn't of been a bitch and let you go, why did I go and get drunk? It wasn't your fault and I shouldn't of blamed you!"

Tears created puddles on the floor as I held Jake's hand. All I could hear was the beeping of the machines and I looked at the door to see Ryan and Carrie peer through the tiny window. Ryan mouthed me something but I just shook my head and stared at the floor. My hands were shaking and I could see the chest of Jake rise and fall. I didn't know what to do with myself.

"Jess, do you want a hot chocolate?" Ryan creaked open the door and looked in. I have him a nod and Carrie came and sat down next to me.

"Everything will be fine Jessy, it's not the first time Jake has been in here,"

That just made me worry more. Maybe this was the sign that we wern't made for each other, because he seems to end up in the hospital more times than in my bed. I picked up Carrie from under the arms and placed her on my knee. "Carrie, we can only hope that he will be fine and pray that he will, so on the count of three, we'll do so okay?" she looked at me and nodded, so I showed her what to do and we both put our hands together. "Dear God, please let Jake get better and we'll live happily together with just me, him and Carrie, maybe some kids of our own, but let's not go that far because maybe fate doesn't want us to be together, so please just let him recover so we can move on with our lives, thank you ar'men,"

I opened my eyes and Carrie's were still shut tight. "Can I open them now?"

"Yes silly,"

She peeled her eyes open and we sat in silence. "I'm here bringing home the warmth,"

I chuckled lightly to myself, trying to stay positive. "That was cheesy Ryan," I took the hot chocolate from me, and he handed Carrie a packet of watsits.

"Only trying to help, shall I wait out-"

"No no, please stay, I need the company at the moment," I grabbed his wrist and forced him to sit on the floor with me and Carrie.

Half an hour had passed and no one had come into see him yet, which had to be a good thing right? "Mmmm," I could hear someone groan and turned to Ryan.

"What on earth are you doing! Are you trying to give me a heartattack!?"

"That wasn't me... but at least if you did have one, you'd be in the right place,"

I rolled my eyes and just continued to see there patiently. "Mmmm,"

"There it was again!"

Ryan looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "Umm Jess, I don't think it's your imagination," I could see him smile and look up to Jake.
