"Ah!" And an orange slice was plopped in to your mouth.

Turns out, your mother was extremely worried about you to the point of coming to the hospital to see you until she was notified that you were currently signed in as a patient.

Obviously she did what every loving mother did- she got in to a frenzied state of extreme panic.

This was perhaps that worst time for you to not be alone.

You needed to find out more from this unknown voice in your head.

"They're working you to the bone! I'll have a word with Seokjin about this" your mother complained before feeding you another orange slice while you sat on the gurney still.

The mentioning of his name reminded you of Chief Kim's words.

He had told Jin to keep an eye on you.

Which made sense as to why he moved in with you.

Who knows, Chief Kim was most likely the person who paid for your overdued bills.

However, the reason as to why he should keep an eye on you was still a mystery.

Chief Kim was becoming more mysterious as the seconds went by.

Not only that, but Yoongi also played a part in this somehow.

"...Mum, how did I get my abilities?" You asked out of the blue, catching your mother off guard.

"Tsk tsk, you should know by now. The Gods gave you this gift, remember?" You rolled your eyes.

"Yeah yeah, but I meant like when and how" you watched as your mother retracted her hand and placed the orange down before going in to deep thought.

"It was right after your father died. You said you couldn't see him since he was all red" you vaguely remembered saying that in the hospital when the doctors ushered you two in to say your final goodbyes.

You cried at the time. Not because you knew what was happening, but because you didn't know. Your new abilities stopped you from seeing your dad for the last time.

It happened at that time? Why?

Your mind stayed silent which was strange. The voice would usually be responding.

"Oh... but why would I get these abilities?"

"Because you are the chosen one. The Gods have a plan for you. Now, say ah~" before you could say anything, the door opened up to reveal someone entering.

"Good morning, Doctor L/N. Good morning Ma'am" Namjoon greeted the both of you politely as he made his way over to the right side of you and facing the opposite of your mother.

"Good morning, Doctor. Thank you for helping my daughter" the Chief of surgery simply smiled at the older woman before looking over at you.

"I should be the one thanking Doctor L/N. She was able to save a life today" even though he was showing his gratitude, you could only feel uncomfortable under his gaze.

"...you don't need to thank me, I was just doing what anyone else would do..." you averted your eyes before smiling nervously at the older.

"Believe it or not, Doctor L/N, not everyone is as brave as you. I'm truly impressed, keep up with the good work" and with a final nod of goodbye to both you and your mother, he made his way out.

Not realising you were holding in your breath, you let your nerves calm down and resumed back to your thoughts.

Your mother quickly noticed this.

"Y/N? What's wrong darling?"

Should I tell her? It wouldn't do much good anyway since I don't even know what's going on... I should snoop around.

After coming to a thought through decision, you brushed off your worries and tried to reassure your mother.

"Nothing! Just feeling a little dizzy is all..."

"Dizzy?! I'm going to get the doctor!"

"Wait! Mum, don't-!" It was too late as she had already zoomed out of the room.

Sighing in exasperation at your mother's irrational behaviour, you tried to retrack your mind to what happened before.

...voice in my head? Are you there?

Yes, I'll always be here.

...are you going to explain to me everything or what?

...I'm afraid I would just confuse you more. There's a lot to talk about and to be honest, we don't have much time.

Don't have much time? For what?

We have to figure out the secrets of this place before I'm gone.

Secrets?! Gone?! You're not making any sense!

All you need to know is that you're in danger if we don't do something to stop them.

Stop who?! You're just not answering any of my questions!

Your mind stayed silent for a few seconds before finally speaking up.

You'll have to wait to find out. I've used too much of my energy last night, I need...to...rest...

And with that, you could sense the voice fading away, as if it had went to sleep.

Hey! Wait! What do you mean by all of this?! I need answers!

It seems as though your life was more complicated than you had originally thought.
