August 28th, Wednesday and you and Hayner were sat in a restaurant, you were both staring at your meals, you were poking at yours and Hayner was just staring at it. Neither of you had spoken since you sat down and now you were present but not fully there. You glanced up at your brother and you placed the fork down and reached over slowly and placed your hand on his. He teared his gaze away from the food and to you.
"I'm sorry, you have to leave." You whispered, his eyes softened and he turned his hand over to hold your hand.
"I'm sorry too... but hey maybe we'll get back and fix this whole mess and it'll be fine." He said, wishful thinking but you were grateful that he was trying to make things seem better. You licked your bottom lip before pulling your hand back from Hayner and glanced at the food.
"Alright, we should eat, this looks great!" You said trying to be cheerful, he nodded in agreement and you two began to eat the food, but as you got through the meal, you both became sadder and quieter until it was too much. You both called the waiter over, paid and hurried out of there and back home. The walk was long and every so often you both would stop and stare at the ocean, your hearts were being torn and there was nothing you could do right now. You both slowed down your pace as you came towards the door, Hayner opened the door and stepped to the side to let you in. You faced him and he gave you a small smile.
"We're stronger than this, we can get through this, together." He said firmly, you nodded.
"Together." You repeated and the two of you headed into the house for the night, just a few more days.

Friday, the 30th August. The looming date was approaching, nothing felt the same for you. You had gotten up early, earlier than Hayner, Fran and even Nyx. You knew they would be worried, considering what happened earlier this year. Your heart felt tight at the realisation that they came back, but not for you. A girl who fought against them, but for your little sister. Your baby sister. You gritted your teeth together and quietly made your way out of the house. Pushing all those thoughts away you proceeded down the road. Today you had chosen to walk around the island, exploring like you did when you arrive and for you this made you feel worse. Even though some of the places you were visiting were trivial, they still had an impact on you. Memories washed over you as you walked through the mall, café, park, skating rink, even the school, and exploring the smaller island. You had met your new family at these places, you had an attachment to Destiny Island, even though it hadn't been long since you arrived, it was then you discovered how Hayner must have felt when he left here a year ago, and now he has to leave again. You stopped staring at your house, the place that felt more like home than any castle. Tears welled in your eyes and you sighed, you took a step forward but the door opened up, Nyx was standing there with an unreadable expression. You gave him a small sheepish smile and he sighed before holding out his hand you trudged forward and reached for his hand. He took your hand and led you back into the house.
"You know, maybe one day we'll be back." He said, you glanced up at him. "But right now, we have to do the right thing." He added, you sighed and the two of you slumped onto the couch. This was hard for them too, they had made a life here also and even though Nyx would never admit it, he loved your new friends.
"But what is the next right thing..." You whispered as you closed your eyes leaning against Nyx as he put on a movie.

"This is really it..." Kairi whispered, you nodded as you sat by the edge of the beach, watching the sun go down. This was your last day on the smaller island. She took your hand in hers and she bit her lip.
"I'm gonna miss you Kairi." You said, staring blankly at the sky, you could see out of the corner of your eye she had closed her eyes and silently cried. You couldn't move, this was killing you, footsteps in the sane could be heard and you turned slightly and a pair of arms wrapped themselves around you. You sighed softly and squeezed Kairi's hand before letting go and wrapping your arms around Namine who was crying softly. You were about to say it was going to be fine, but you stopped yourself. This was different, it wasn't going to be okay. You hugged her tightly until she pulled back.
"I'm going to miss you so much." She whispered, you nodded, a lump in your throat beginning to form as Xion came over and quickly dropped to her knees hugging you as Namine sat next to her cousin Kairi and leant her head on Kairi's shoulder.
"You know, I can't believe my date is going." She mused quietly, the humour not reaching her eyes. You placed your hand on her cheek and mustered a smile before the two of you hugged once more. A few more seconds and Olette ran down the beach, behind her the seniors walking slowly. You stood up as Xion sat down next to Namine and lay down on Namine's legs, staring up at the setting sky. You held your arms out and Olette threw herself at you. You held her tightly as she cried you closed your eyes, you knew this was hurting Olette. She was in love with your brother after all. You held her tightly, neither of you speaking as the seniors appeared. You let go of Olette as she slumped to the ground and Kairi wrapped her arm around her as they rested their heads against each other. You held out your arms as Serah and Vanille wrapped themselves around you the three of you resting your foreheads against each other.
"This is it huh?" Vanille said quietly, you nodded and Serah sighed heavily.
"I can't believe it." She murmured, and they let go of you before sitting down next to Xion, Serah put her legs up on Xion's. and Vanille sat sideways resting her back on Serah. You turned to Aqua, Luna and Yuna. They smiled weakly at you and you hugged each of them.
"I wish this was a horrible dream we were all sharing." Yuna sighed, Aqua nodded and squeezed your hand gently.
"We have phones..." She said, Luna glanced at the sea before sitting down.
"But it doesn't feel the same..." She trailed off as she wiped her eyes. The three of them sat down and Luna behind her sister resting her side against Namine's back. Aqua leant on Luna as Yuna lay down in the sand in front of Namine. Rikku, Yuffie and Cindy wrapped you a hug and held you tightly.
"Destiny Island is going to seem so small after all our adventures." Rikku said, the other two nodded as you kept your eyes closed willing yourself not to cry. Finally they all let go and sat down with the others, Rikku lay close to Yuna as Cindy went next to Serah and Yuffie rested her arm on Aqua's shoulder. Paine was stood with her arms folded and you smiled slightly at her before she pulled you against her and hugged you tightly.
"No matter what, we will be all together again." She stated, you nodded as you hugged her tightly. Paine sighed and she pulled back and placed her hand on your cheek before sitting down next to Olette and pulling the younger brunette against her to hug her as the college girls showed up. Aerith was the first to embrace you and you could feel your emotions getting the better of you.
"We will always be waiting for you here." She said before pulling back and sitting down next to Paine. Tifa took your hands in hers before giving you a small smile.
"We'll see each other again." She added, you nodded unable to speak as the tears began to blur your vision. Tifa kissed the top of your forehead before sitting down next to Cindy. Lightning sighed and ruffled your hair before pulling you into a hug.
"Never forget us alright." She said softly, you nodded and hugged her tightly before you sat down next to Aerith and Lightning as you all watched the sun set, waiting for a miracle that this was not the end.

The sun had gone in and once it was gone you girls stood up. You all turned together to see the guys illuminated by the lights of the main island. They had their torches and they made their way towards you all as you headed up the beach ready to say your goodbyes.
"Van?" Xion asked, Vanitas gave her a small nod and she gave him a small smile as Cloud placed his hand on top of Vanitas' head, to which he didn't object for once as his gaze met yours. You smiled slightly until you felt someone brush passed you. Olette was the first to run forward towards your brother, he held out his arms and she jumped wrapping her arms and legs around him as he held her close. Everyone felt how you looked, miserable and upset for them. Once you had reached them, Genesis was the first to place his hand on your shoulder and give it a gentle squeeze.
"Well I must say I am going to miss you. You livened up the island." He mused, you smiled slightly and Tidus walked up to you and patted you lightly on the back.
"Yeah, you did. And I'm gonna miss you." He said, as Yuna came up to him and began to cry slightly. Tidus sighed and you smiled at him as he took Yuna into his arms, you suddenly felt a wave of sadness hit you again, as you wouldn't get to see their relationship grow either, your eyes turned to the ground, nor would you see yours either. You glanced up as Sora, Ven and Roxas wrapped their arms around you. The girls watched and Paine gave a sideways look to Cloud, an unspoken message between them as he shook his head. Everyone seemed to understand.
"I'm gonna miss you guys." You croaked, Ven squeezed your side as Sora ruffled your hair and Roxas gently rubbed your hand.
"We're gonna miss you too." Roxas gave you a small sad smile.
"Just don't ever forget about us." Sora ordered, causing you to smile slightly.
"We won't forget about you." He whispered, you bit your lip to stop them from wobbling and nodded, as you felt the lump in your throat form again. They let go and Riku and Zexion stepped forward and the three of you hugged.
"We'll see you again, I'm sure of it." Zexion whispered, you nodded slightly. Riku sighed softly,
"and when we do, it'll be as if nothing has changed." He added, the three of you pulled apart and you smiled at them as they joined Sora, Ven and Roxas. Prompto and Noctis stepped forward and ruffled your hair before resting their foreheads against yours.
"We're really going to miss you." Prompto said, you closed your eyes and tried your best to smile.
"We're a phone call away." Noctis murmured, the three of you sighed sadly before pulling back and they stepped to the side. Terra, Axel, Reno and Zack stepped forward and you let out a small whimpered laugh and they hugged you tightly.
"you know, no one else will ever replace you, got it memorised." Axel said, you pursed your lips together.
"And you were the best senior English person." Reno mused, you furrowed your eyebrows together as tears began to fall.
"Yeah, great English there Reno." Terra laughed, "but don't ever forget us." He added quietly, you nodded.
"because we will never forget you." Zack said, they hugged you tightly before pulling back, Gladiolus, Leon and Ignis stepped forward and you stepped into them as they hugged you.
"Be safe, alright?" Gladiolus said causing you to nod slightly. You could hear the crying of the girls behind you, making this harder to not burst into tears and scream and break down.
"We'll see you soon." Ignis said, Leon nodded.
"Chin up, you're stronger than you know and we're never that far away." Leon added. They held you a moment longer before letting go and Cloud and Vanitas were stood in front of you with their arms folded before they lowered them and you walked into Cloud's arms, he wrapped his arms around your back and Vanitas placed his hands on your shoulders and raised one hand to ruffle your hair.
"We'll always be here." Vanitas whispered, Cloud nodded as you gritted your teeth together and tightened your grip as the tears began to fall.
"Always." Cloud said, he glanced up and Hayner stared at him, "both of you will always have a place here." You glanced back slightly at Hayner and his lips trembled and suddenly everyone was around you, Hayner, Vanitas and Cloud. The group hugged you both tightly, nothing could ruin this moment and then it hit you. You were saying goodbye, you burst into tears, underneath the most dazzling stars.

You stared at your notebook, it was the last thing you needed to pack but you couldn't. You had no idea why, you were sat finishing the last of the book and you sighed. There was a knock at the door. You turned towards it and stared blankly at Fran.
"How is the packing going?" She asked, you gestured to the empty room around you. She nodded, "it'll be okay." She whispered before disappearing. You sighed and within that moment you realised that this was hard for her and Nyx too. They had spent the year here with you also, and they loved your friends just as much as you and Hayner do. You turned back around and closed the book, but you grabbed a spare piece of paper and an envelope and sat down on your bed, ready to write one last thing down.
