It was the Monday after Eve had told her family. It was February 19. She was only two weeks pregnant. She decided not to tell her students, at least not yet. She did however tell her coworkers, and the principal and vice. That was only common sense.

"I...think it's insane how a lot of....people are sc...cared of homo...sexuals."

Well, that's random, Eve thought.

"Are you going somewhere with that?"

After a moment, Adlyn smiled mischievously and shrugged. "Wha...t if I...was gay?"

"I'd be fine with it sweetheart. Love is beautiful, it doesn't matter if you're gay or not. I know a gay couple, they're perfect together."

"A...re they gay or les...bian?"

"Well, I know a gay couple and a lesbian couple."

"Aw."

"Yup. Why? Do you think you're gay?"

"I...don't know." Suddenly, tears began to cascade from Adlyn's eyes. Quickly, Eve moved to comfort her.

"Sweets, it's okay, I promise. Adlyn, is there another reason you're crying, honey?"

Through her tears, Adlyn nodded. "Walk...ing is s-so hard! At sc..hool they make me walk and.... It hurts and I look so dumb," she sobbed. "I miss being NORMAL!"

Eve wiped tears from Adlyn's face. "Do you want to walk now?"

Adlyn sniffed, and looked at Eve steadily. "Yeah, I need to get better at this."
