Part Sixty Two

When Adlyn walked in, she didn't say anything, she just went straight to Eve and plopped down next to her and asked, "Why?" with tears in her eyes.

"Why what?"

"Why the fuck did you get that close to death."

"Adlyn," Eve started, but she saw the tears in the girl's eyes. She wrapped her arms around the teen.

"I don't know," she said finally. "But I sure as hell didn't want it either."

Nobody cared that they used foul language.

"Never again, promise me, dammit Eve!"

Eve stared at Adlyn, "I won't try...and I know your angry but you have to stop swearing before you go home."

"I want to stay here."

"You ca-"

"I'm gonna."

UGGGGGH. Why must kids be so stubborn?!
