About 30 minutes later, it was pitch black in the living room where the girls were. Thinking Eve was asleep, Adlyn turned over, buried her head in her pillow, and began to cry.
Eve froze. Was she hearing right? When it continued she knew she was and said:
"Adlyn?"
Great, I'm caught. "What?"
"What's wrong?" Eve moved by Adlyn and draped an arm around her, giving the girl a squeeze.
"Everything."
"... Care to give more detail?"
"Fine..." Adlyn sighed.
