"I found her."
Eve heard Timiteo's voice, his words, and her heart began to beat way faster than normal.
"Tell me she's okay." Please, Lord, let her be okay.
"You want the truth or the lie?"
This could not be good.
"Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no."
"She's alive."
Thank God.
"She's unconscious."
Not good.
"There's a message on the wall. She's in an alley."
"What does it say?!"
"I'm sorry, I had to, I couldn't stand it anymore. It wasn't you. Love, Adlyn."
"¿Sangre? ¿Cuchillos?"
"Sí."
"Get her to a hospital then, Timiteo!"
"Sí, sí, I'm working on it, woman!!"
This was bad, this was really bad. Eve sat down at the table. A bag of potato chips we nearby, she reached in and started eating them like a pig. They were really good, and Adlyn was probably going to die.
Let her be okay. Please. Please.
Suddenly, a sick thought entered her head. Did Alia know?
She grabbed the phone and called Timiteo. "¿Lo sabe su madre?"
"Sí," Timiteo said.
Well, that's good.
But is anything else?
