Chapter 70: Rival

"Congratulations on passing your exams, Todoroki." Your homeroom teacher said with a calm smile watching your shocked face shimmer with disbelief and relief.

"Hope that you do well in the hero course from now on. You will be joining the other heroes in training in their summer camp. There you will be introduced to your class. Go do your best."

You almost thought your mind was playing tricks on you but it was real and you couldn't help but beam excitedly.

Eavesdropping on you two your classmates came jumping out of the room with wide yet sad smiles. "Congratulations, Todo-chan!"

"Knew you could do it Todoroki."

"Don't forget us when you transfer classes, (Y/N)-chan!"

"We will miss you a bunch so you better visit us during your free time!"

Their words brought your eyes to soften. Your homeroom teacher grew a vein as he scolded them for being so noisy. But without even needing your quirk to sense, you looked over to a certain purple haired male with a worried gaze.

He was silent since your exam. Despite his wishes hoping you would pass, it was all he said throughout the exams. He didn't even mind when you told him that you would be studying with some of your friends in the hero course.

You didn't get the chance to talk to him because you were tackled by Tomodaichi who loudly sobbed in a comical way as she said to you.

"No, you're gonna be moving to another class! We barely had the chance to be close as classmates!!!" she complained earning a small laugh from you.

"Its not like I am transferring schools. I'll still be here. Don't forget that."

"But we're not gonna be classmates which means that we won't be able to hang out together and we won't be able to make mischief in activities or be together in the end of the school year!"

"Don't be so extra, Tomodaichi!" laughed one of your classmates with you and others, not noticing a small glint in her eyes before you pat her shoulders.

"We still have the rest of the year." you comforted her "I won't be gone, you know."

A sigh drawled from the blonde girl's lips but nonetheless she nodded bitterly, "If you say so."

You decided not to look at the sullen girl, knowing you might be guilt tripped to doing something to make up. Instead, you turned your attention to the purple haired male who sat silently in his seat, far off from your group.

He had a dazed look of deep thought and you can feel the conflicting emotions he was having. It had you worried.

'Shinso wanted to be in the hero class too. But the chances of him being in the class will take longer than me...' you meekly thought.

'I would have been the same as him if it weren't for the incident of being in the wrong classroom the entire time... Maybe I should have been more sensitive about it? Did I look very full off myself when the news of me being transferred was announced? Should I have said to taken it slow?'

'Does he still want to be my friend?' you pursed your lips in thought as the last bell rang.

The sun was making a golden hue bask on the walkway to the gate, as students slowly walked off with friends, you stood back looking around to find the mop of purple. It took a full 5 minutes of searching and you couldn't find Shinso anywhere.

'Did he left already?' you wondered with a small frown. '...Is he mad? Does he not want to my friend anymore? Should I have given up on transferring early? Is--!!'
