Chapter 15: The Speeding Track Runner

"I am home!" You greet towards the empty and dim living room.

'Has the house always been this quiet?' You thought to yourself remembering that your sister is out, your brother is at his girlfriend's house, your father is probably gonna be out late and your brother is likely either asleep or training.

You look down with a sad look before proceeding to your room, but as you passed by the dining room. You notice light illuminating from the doorway. Out of curiosity, you peeked into the room to find your brother sitting by the table, chin rested on his hand with his elbow resting on the flat of the wooden surface.

In front of him was a plate of food wrapped in plastic. You recovering from your state of shock, you walked up to him, letting out an amused sigh.

"Big brother, this is for when I come home really late. It's still early.." You let out a light giggle watching Shōtō peek through his closed lids. Without a word, he placed a hand over his face as it slowly turns red. Muttering a low, 'I know' under his breath.

This made you laugh a little more before you wrapped your arms around his shoulder, giving him a behind the back hug.

"Thank you for waiting for me." You chirp placing a kiss on his right temple.

"It was my fault for going home early, we were in separate schools during middle school, so I was used to coming home alone..." Shōtō looked down in guilt, "So I decided to make you dinner when you come home."

'Ah-- But I ate earlier with Shinsō-san...' You thought to yourself. You glanced at the food before gleefully humming.

'But Shōtō made this meal... I can't just waste it!' Taking your seat next to your twin, you unwrapped the food and took a pair of chopsticks. Before you could start you heard a soft grumble and looked at your brother in surprise.

"Shōtō, did you eat dinner?" You ask bewildered that your brother did not eat dinner yet.

"I was but then I started to feel guilty just leaving you behind and eating without you, so I wrapped the food and waited for you to come home..." He mutter

"Aren't you worried that I might have eaten dinner while I was out?"

"Yes, but I feel more comfortable eating with your presence..." Shōtō shyly mutters in a straight tone, but it was enough to move your heart. Taking a serving you showed it to his lips. Shōtō looks at you in surprise but you smiled sweetly at him.

"First serving is yours!"

Feeling the corner of his lips twitch up, Shōtō took in the serving watching you chuckle in delight. '(Y/N) is always so happy and understanding, I am so blessed to have her...' he thought softly his moments with you.

Looking at the empty bowl you let out an amused sigh while you clean the dinnerware. "Good thing he didn't notice that I didn't take a single spoon, seeing him eat like a kid was enough to fill my belly."

"Come on...! Just a little bit...more!" You grunted trying to take more energy out of the plant sat in front of you.

"Yes!" You cheered gleefully as you finished. Only for the plant to immediately fall like a skin suit. "No...!" you panic and quickly returned the energy which made the plant stand up straight as it once did.

You let out a tired sigh and chewed on your cheek. "I was so close... I almost thought I could eat lunch with Shōtō..."

"If that's what you wanted you could've asked me." Your brother's voice emitted from behind making you look back and smile.
