(Y/N)'s POV

I could only stare in wonder as these huge, loud things rushed by on the streets, and as people walked all over the place in strange clothes like the outfit Pepper had gifted to me. Everything was new and colorful and extravagant. I really didn't know what to think. There was so much going on. So much to see, so much to do, so much to experience. Where was I supposed to start? I could just stand here and watch all day and not get bored.

I heard familiar laughter to my left, and looked up to see my husband looking down at me, a smile on his face, his green eyes shining. "What do you think, darling?" he asked. "What would you like to see first?" he asked in that beautiful, rich accent that I loved so much.

"I don't even know where to start," I admitted, a giddy feeling rushing up in my stomach. "I have no idea what's here or what Midgaridans do for fun," I explained. "I've only heard a few things from Jane, and I don't think everyone does those on a daily basis," I reminded him, referring to those huge science projects Jane did with her friend named Darcy who I had yet to meet.

"Why don't we just take a walk and look around then?" Loki offered. "We can go see Central Park; I know people come from all around to see it. I have a feeling you'll like it," he said, a certain shine to his eyes. I quickly agreed, letting Loki lead the way.

"How do you know where you're going?" I asked after a few minutes of walking, my arms still wrapped around his tightly. The streets were busy with people dressed in warm clothes, and I didn't want to take any chances of getting separated from the man. He shrugged.

"I've looked at a few maps with Pepper, and she gave me some directions," he explained. "She's actually the one who thought you might like to see the park," he said, scratching the back of his neck with one hand nervously. "I honestly don't know much about New York either, so I guess we're learning together," he said, sounding unsure. I hugged his arm tightly, sending him a bright smile. "She also gave me this," he said, fishing something out of coat pocket. "A phone, she said, to call her if we got lost," he said through a chuckle, "though I can just teleport us back if that were to happen."

As we walked, it was mostly silent between the two of us as I just took in every sight and sound I could. Unfortunately, I did see quite a few people staring at us as we walked down the street. No doubt they had recognized Loki, but I tried not to pay attention to them. Most times I would just look away as we continued to walk, and they would look away on their own accord, but if they were blatantly staring for much too long, I just stared back until they noticed. Then, they would blush and immediately look away.

Before I knew it, I was staring at a massive amount of trees. I stopped in my tracks, just looking at the trees, and listening to the birds that were barely audible over the sounds of what Loki told me were called cars. It was weird to see such a large amount of trees in the middle of a massive city. It just looked unnatural. But, as we entered the wooded area, it felt like I was back at home, surrounded by the birds and the trees. With my keen elf ears, I could hear the branches of the trees swaying back and forth. I could hear the squirrels scampering around in the trees and across the ground. It was peaceful and comforting.

After letting me just stare for a little bit, Loki started leading me further into the park, and soon we came across a massive lake. The quiet lapping of the water on the shore was comforting, and I was quick to detach myself from Loki and approach the shore. Squatting down by the water, I dipped my fingers into the water only for my whole body to shiver at the extreme temperature.
