Enjoy!!!!!Sobs continued to resonate in my ears, making my heart clench in pain for my heart broken wife. Anger pooled in my stomach, wanting to be released in a mighty rage, but I knew this was where I needed to be; I needed to be with my wife. She needed me right here next to her, comforting, telling her she was safe. If she couldn't rely on her family, then I needed to be there for her. And here I was.
I ran my hand through her beautiful hair and down her back in what I hoped were comforting movements. Her tears and sobs were slowly fading, finally becoming whimpers and sniffles. Though she was beginning to calm down, I didn't want to let her go. I wasn't going to let her go until she was ready. I didn't want to push her away, to make her feel like she was an issue. She was anything but that. She was my perfect wife, and there was nothing I wouldn't do for her.
As she calmed down, her hands only became tighter fists around the neck of my shirt. She pulled me closer, not wanting to have more than a millimeter of space between the two of us. I was okay with that, more than okay. If this was what she needed, this is what I would give to her. Only a monster would deny his wife of her needs.
"L-Loki?" I finally heard her mutter, her skin brushing against the skin on my neck.
"Yes, darling, I'm right here. What do you need?" I asked, continuing in my gentle ministrations if running a hand up and down her back.
"H-how much did he say?" she asked, her voice shaky and slightly raspy. "D-did h-he...?" she asked, cutting off with another abrupt sob.
"No, my love," I said, putting my hand on the back of her head, holding her close. "I didn't let him. No one knows anything; I promise," I vowed. I felt her nod against the crook of my neck where her head was nestled.
I looked up sharply when I heard the doors to the terrace open. As I looked up, getting ready to tell whoever was there off, I felt my wife tense up in my arms. I knew immediately where her thoughts had gone. Looking up, I found Thor to be standing in the doorway of the terrace, Jane by his side.
"It's just Thor and Jane," I told the girl, hoping to calm her. She nodded, letting out a deep sigh as she clutched the back of my shirt once more. I then turned my attention to my brother. "What is it, Thor?" I asked. He looked hesitant to speak, but a quiet glare had him speaking.
"Mother and father would like to speak to us in regard to our..." He trailer off, obviously not sure what to say as he glanced down at my wife. "Our guests," he finally decided. I opened my mouth to retort, not having it in myself to leave my wife alone for longer than a few seconds.
"I'll stay with her, Loki," Jane cut in. "That is if you trust me with her," she quickly added. I thought for a moment, glancing at my wife before glancing back at the other woman standing in front of me. I didn't want to leave her, but I knew there were things I needed to tend to; they weren't going to get away without feeling more of my wrath.
"(Y/N)?" I questioned, hoping to gain her attention. She grunted into the crook of my neck, pulling tighter at my shirt. "(Y/N), darling, can you please look at me?" I asked. Slowly, and very reluctantly, she leaned back from me so that I could hold her not quite at arms' length. Her (E/C) eyes were red and wet with tears, but she looked at me attentively. "Would you be okay if I went with Thor for a little bit?" I asked softly. "Jane will stay with you. You can get washed up and take a rest," I offered. "How does that sound?" I asked gently. She looked at me and then at Jane before looking back at me. She nodded slightly. "Wonderful," I said, giving her an encouraging smile.
