Wow, this is only a month a half late. Sorry about that, life has been kind rough lately. Hope you enjoy this extra long chapter!

The pounding of my head was a rude awakening as I opened my tired eyes. It was like a drum behind my eyes. I blinked rapidly, trying to bring my blurry vision into focus. A groan made its way out of my mouth as I tried to shift onto my side. My back twinged in pain as I did so, and I winced, shutting my eyes once more, trying to get the pain under control so I could assess the current situation.

As I took in my surroundings, a burning sensation on my left shoulder accompanied the other pain in my head and back. I also become suddenly aware of a weight on my chest and abdomen. My eyes snapped open, ignoring the pain; I had felt worse. I was met with the sight of dust floating heavily in the air. There was a scent of something burning. It was an unpleasant smell and my nose crinkled involuntarily.

There was suddenly a noise in my ears. I hadn't realized until then that my ears were ringing. All other sounds were muted as if I were listening to them through a wall or if I had my head stuffed under my pillow as (Y/N) got ready for the day ahead, but I was still unwilling to remove myself from the comfort of the warm bed.

(Y/N).

My eyes snapped open at the thought of my beloved wife. Where is (Y/N)? Wasn't she just with me? I shook my head back and forth, trying to remember. A ragged gasp left my throat as I suddenly remembered everything. Well, I wasn't sure if it was everything. I wasn't sure what everything was. All I remembered was being with the avengers in the medical wing with the orb. And (Y/N). She had been behind me, her arms wrapped around my middle. And then she threw me to the ground, screaming at me to get down. And then pain. And then now.

Once more, my eyes fluttered open, and I looked down, my eyes going wide when I saw my wife sprawled out over top of me. There were holes in her dress in her right shoulder. The skin beneath was red and blistered. She was limp like a rag doll. If it weren't for the ragged rise and fall of her side, I would have thought she was dead. That thought crossed my mind for a split second and it scared me to death.

Suddenly, all of the ringing in my ears stopped, and all other sounds started rushing into my ears. I winced in pain as shouting and the crackle of brick assaulted my ears. I scrambled into a sitting position, careful to keep (Y/N)'s head and neck stable. I careful turned her onto her back. I winced at how limp her left arm was. I wasn't by any means a healer, but it was clear that her shoulder was not in its socket. A whimper escaped my lips as when I caught sight of the blood dripping from her temple. I brushed her hair away, finding a small cut above her temple.

"Loki!" I heard my brother bellow. "Loki, where are you?" I looked up, gasping when I saw how much destruction had been caused. Part of the ceiling had crumbled and all of the light fixtures were in pieces on the ground. Dust was thick in the air; I couldn't see five feet ahead of me.

"Thor!" I called as I pulled (Y/N) into my lap, remaining on the floor. She had a head injury; I couldn't leave her. Thor would just have to come to me. I could hear some of the other avengers shouting to each other. Tony was shouting for Pepper and Peter, Steve yelling to Bucky. Thor has gone silent, causing my heart to beat violently inside of my chest.

"Thor!" I called out again. There was silence. Then, I saw a hulking figure I recognized as my brother break through the dust that was beginning to settle. He had a few cut and bruises here and there, but he looked fine. The other avengers were behind him, all in the same shape as Thor, shaken, but not too badly hurt.

"Loki, are you are alright?" he asked a he came jogging over.

"Yes, but (Y/N) hit her head, and her left shoulder is very clearly out of place," I explained. "Is everyone else okay?" I asked.
