This charter was super hard to write, but I hope you like it! Remember, requests/suggestions are always welcome!
I was woken by the sound of noises on the floor above me. It took me a few moments to figure out where I was until I felt familiar strong arms wrapping around me securely. A smile worked its way across my lips, and I happily wiggled deeper into the embrace. In response, the arms wrapped around me, and something nestled on top of my head.
"Good morning, dove," a voice said, deep and slightly husky with sleep. "Sleep well?" he asked, brushing my messy hair away from my face. I nodded, giving him a small smile. We laid there for a few minutes in a comfortable silence, Loki holding me to him, his hands running up and down my back in a soothing manner. He let out a small sigh before speaking again. "Why don't you go get ready so we can start the day?" he offered, leaning back from me a little.
I nodded and wiggled out of the bed, grabbing a plain, tan dress. I didn't want to draw any attention to the two of us. I wanted these two weeks to be perfect. I knew that likely, they wouldn't, but that was okay. Nothing was ever meant to be perfect, most certainly not relationships. If we could argue and come back together, I knew the relationship would hold true. We could hold true to each other.
After I slipped into the clean dress and did my hair, Loki took the bathroom to get ready for the day. "Ready, dove?" he asked a so tied the laces of my boots of my feet clad in socks.
"Definitely," I said, sending him a wide smile. He smiled back, showing his perfect white teeth. That smile looked so handsome on his normally tense face. I knew there was something he wasn't telling me. There were probably a number of things. I could see it in his eyes, even when he had the most before smile I had ever seen on his face. It was something dark and haunting, something he had promised he locked far away, but it still managed to resurface. Maybe it wasn't resurfacing. Maybe it disappeared momentarily, only to come rushing back with unrelenting force that rocked him where he stood. He was good at hiding his emotions but even easier to read. He showed every ounce of emotion in his eyes whether he knew it or not. I was going to get him to talk eventually, but now wasn't the time. Now was the time to get to know each other better, to strengthen our relationship. I wasn't going to ruin that now. I couldn't. This moment was too perfect. It was peaceful. Just the two of us.
"Coming, little dove?" Loki asked. He was back in his new form, curly brown hair and blue eyes, his hand on the door knob as he looked back at me. A brown eyebrow was raised as he gazed at me.
"Yup," I said, bouncing over to him and taking his hand in my own. He squeezed my smaller hand in his larger one, causing me to smile brightly once more. My husband smiled back, his smile genuine and true.
"You seemed deep in thought," Loki commented as we made our way down stairs to the main area of the tavern for a quick breakfast. "What's on your mind?" he asked kindly. I shrugged my shoulders, knowing I could tell him right now.
"Nothing you need to word yourself about quite yet," I promised. An eyebrow rose again.
"Yet?" he asked as we entered the main area of the tavern. I only patted his arm. He looked at me strangely but didn't say anything word, probably knowing he wouldn't get anything out of me.
The same men from last night were sitting back in their corner. They were much louder than last night, laughing and drinking, full of energy. Plates of mostly eaten food sat forgot in front of them as they laughed together. On the other side of the tavern sat a man and a woman, two young children sitting next to them. The mother was coaxing her son into eating a piece of dark bread while the daughter tried not to fall asleep at the table.
