Hey, guys! Back at it again! I really hope you enjoy this chapter, let me if you did with a comment and/or vote. Thanks and enjoy

A loud knocking at the door was an unwelcome sound early in the morning. I was still in bed, wrapped up in my blankets with my wife held securely in my arms. I had no interest in waking and was quick to settle back down beside my wife, content with going back to sleep. A growl like noise escaped my throat as there was another knocking on the door. I was hoping whoever it was would realize that we weren't ready to get out of bed quite yet, but unfortunately, they did not, and there was another knocking on the door.

(N/N) stirred in my arms, and I knew she was about to wake. She was still healing, and I knew she needed her rest. "Go back to sleep, darling," I soothed, running a hand through her hair. "I'll get it. You just go back to sleep." The woman hummed and sunk back into the bed, almost looking as if she had melted into the soft mattress. I jumped as there was another knock at the door, and I bristled. If it was Thor again, I was going to stab him with one of my favorite knives. I carefully got up from the bed, making sure (Y/N) was still sound asleep. Thankfully, she was.

I tucked her back into bed and hurried to the door. I shut the first pair of doors shut behind me and opened the door to the hallway. I grabbed a shirt that was laying on the back of the plush chair in the corner of the room, slipping it over my head. (Y/N) had berated me for leaving my clothes lying around, but it came in handy for mornings like these.

I opened my mouth to tell off whoever was at the door, but paused when I saw who was standing before me. There, standing in the doorway was a maid. I recognized her as (Y/N)'s personal maid that she never called upon. She didn't like other people doing work for her; I had learned that very quickly. The maid's immaculate bun almost touched the floor as she bowed in front of me.

"Please, stand up," I said, her posture making me uncomfortable by just looking at it.

"P-please forgive me, you Highness," she began. I leaned against the doorframe with a sigh. "I am so sorry to wake you and your lady so early in the morning, but the king and queen request an audience." My brows furrowed at the news. The maid went right on talking, further explaining the situation at hand. "The queen apologizes for the suddenness, but it was very unexpected. She requests your lady's audience as well," she explained. I crossed my arms over my chest, a dark eyebrow raising.

"Do you know anything else?" I asked, trying to gather all of the information I could. The maid shook her head sorrowfully.

"No, my prince. The queen just said it was urgent," she amended. I nodded, glancing over my shoulder as the door behind me. I hated to wake (N/N) this early in the morning, especially after such a late night the night before. We had paid a visit to the waterfall, sitting by the cliff together, just soaking in each other, sharing a few lingering kisses every now and then. We hadn't gotten back until the early hours of the morning.

"Okay," I said. "We'll be there as soon as we can," I told the maid.

"Of course, your highness," she said with another bow. With that, she scurried off in the direction of the throne room. I shook my head and sighed, turning to go back into the room. I sat on the edge of (Y/N)'s side of the bed, not wanting to wake her up but not having much of a choice. She looked so peaceful sleeping there, wrapped up in the comforter, one of my button-down shirts hanging off her much smaller frame. I smiled sadly before putting a hand on her shoulder and shaking her slightly.

"Come on, darling. It's time to get up," I cooed, brushing the stray hair out of her face. She groaned and rolled over so that her back was facing me. I chuckled softly at her antics. "I know, darling, I know, but it's time to get up." She let out a soft whine, letting me know that she was awake, just not ready to get up yet. I couldn't blame her. I would be back in bed next to her if I had the chance. "Come on, dove. Mother and father have requested an audience with us," I explained, hoping that would wake her up a little more. It seemed to do the trick and she rolled onto her back to look up at me, a frown on her face.
