Hey, guys! So, I used my crappy old computer to write this, but I got it done on time. This chapter is a little long, but I know a few of you said you wouldn't mind a longer chapter. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter. Let me know with a comment or a vote!
(Also, the 'm' key on my computer doesn't work all that well so bare with me)
~~~~~~~~~~3rd Person POV~~~~~~~~~
The Avenger's CompoundThere was a shock of brilliant light as Thor landed on the helicopter pad outside the Avenger's Compound in upstate New York. The blonde man straightened his clothes and made his way to the man standing in front of the buildings entrance. Thor extended his hand to the man in he immaculate suit with one of his winning smiles.
"Ah, Sir Happy," he said joyfully. The head of security took his hand and shook it firmly but did not smile. The other man only gestured for the blonde prince of Asgard to follow him. "What is the matter, friend Happy?" Thor asked, a deep frown on his face. Happy was normally like this, but he usual was kind enough to greet him.
"It's just Happy, I've told you that a million times," Happy snapped. This caused Thor's frown to deepen. Happy led the god to the elevator where FRIDAY took them to the lab where the Avengers were currently gathered. "Something hit the compound last night, completely destroying the west wing. That wing is mainly empty at this point which means whoever is shooting at us doesn't know what we have," Happy explained as the doors to the elevator opened. "The boss has reason to believe it's from space." Thor nodded, wondering where where and who this object came from.
"Point break, get your alien ass over here, and take a look at this," Tony called from across the room as soon as he two men entered the room. The engineer turned around to greet them. He looked disheveled and if he hadn't slept much the night before, or that week quite frankly.
"Language." Cap's comment received a few eye rolls, but no one said a word in protest. Clint mouthed 'language' which Sam saw from the corner of his eye. One bird themed super hero covered his mouth with a hand, trying to stifle a laugh caused by he hawk's comment.
"Of course, man of iron," Thor called to the man, not at all bothered by the nickname. Everyone on the team had their nickname from the engineer and had all grown used to it by now. The tall, blonde man crossed the room in just a few strides, coming to stand next to the shorter man. Tony gestured at the glass case that sat in front of him. Thor crossed his muscular arms over his chest, leaning forward to get a better look at the object hidden in plain sight behind the specially made glass. It had been synthesized for this exact reason; containing an extremely dangerous foreign object.
Sitting inside the glass was a spherical object that was tapered slightly at one end. It was dirty, dark greenish color that almost looked black. There were strange signs and markings all over the objects, some standing out and others carved deep into the foreign material. Around the object was a hazy fog. It was about the same color of the object it surrounded; an ugly dark green. It swirled around the object, never straying too far.
Thor's bue eyes narrowed, glaring at the offending object. "What is that fog surrounding it?" Thor asked, his voice gruff and dark. He refused to take his eyes off the hazy object. Tony held up his right hand in response, revealing a hand covered in a light layer of bandages.
"Poison of some sort," said the man. "Ate right though the suit." He explained. Thor's blue eyes narrowed at the thought. Tony was an incredible engineer, he built his suit to withstand almost everything that could possibly come his way. "There's no way this isn't alien tec," the man continued, crossing his arms over his chest.
