~~~~~~~~~~~3RD PERSON POV~~~~~~~~~~~
The avengers compound in upstate New York was busy with super humans and assassins alike, all trying to prepare themselves for their trip to Asgard. Many were excited to see the home of the Norse gods, but they couldn't forget why they were going in the first place. The strange object from another world continued to sit in the most secure lab in the compound, FRIDAY keeping a close eye on the object. It had not caused any further harm, but the occupants of the compound had good reasonto be wary of the foreign object.
Thor had returned from Asgard jut a few hours prior, having to clear the travel through the bifrost to Asgard with the king and queen of the realm. Odin had been hesitant, but seeing that Thor found the heros of Midgard trustworthy, Odin promised his son's friends safe travel through the bifrost.
Thor had also given them the news that Odin and Frigga had insisted on holding a ball for the arrival of the avengers. Many of the people of Asgard had heard of earth's most mightiest heros and were excited to see them. The king and queen though the best way to introduce them was a celebration, something very typical for the kingdom. The avengers we'ren' exactly thrilled about this idea, but they couldn't just oppose the king and queen of the Norse gods of all people.
"Mr. Stark, isn't this so amazing?" Peter gasped as he literally bounced from wall to wall in excietment. "I can't believe we are going to Asgard of allplaces,"he gushed to his mentor. Tony only shook his head at the child's antics. It had been a rough time trying to convince Aunt May to let Peter go to Asgard. Tony had given her al the information and Peter had pleaded and pleaded and pleaded until May finally gave in, threatening the billionaire's life if anything were to happen to her precious nephew. No one could resist Peter's puppy eyes.
"Yeah, kid, I know. Pretty unbelieveable, but we have to rememer why we're going to Asgard in the first place, kiddo," he reminded the child that was the closest thing to a son he would ever get. Peter nodded, his expression turning serious. "We're on a mission, not vacation."
"I know," the boy said through a sigh, falling back on the couch behind him.
"You are read to go, kid?" the engineer asked as he dropped his bag on the floor. Peter gave the man a thumbs up, a small smile on his face.
"Ah, friend Stark, young Peter," Thor's loud voice boomed through the compound. Both m turned to look at the god of thunder, finding hi in his usual armor, his long, blonde hair tied back in a braid.
"Hi, Mr. Thor!" Peter exclaimed, jumping up from his spot on the couch to greet the man. He bounced over to the tall man, a large smile plastered on his face. "Tell me, Mr. Thor," he continued without waiting for a response "What's Asgard like?" Tony shook his head, picking up the kid's bag and tossingit over his shoulder before grabbing his own bag. The trio started to move off through the compound toward the helicopter pad waiting outside.
Thor smiled down at the young boy that was practically glued to his hip. "It is quite a beautiful place, I must say," Thor admitted as they neared the helicopter where the others were waiting. "There really is no way to explain it, you just have to see for yourself." At first, Peter didn't sem too happy with that answer, but than he remembered he was actually going to Asgard. He could wait a few minutes. He was going to have so much to tell Ned when he got home.
When they finally reached the helicopter pad, Thor began to speak to the gathered avengers. "We are about to travel through the bifrost," he announced, a serious look on his usually happy face. "It is going to be rough on you, to put it lightly," he admitted. Natasha only crossed her arms and looked over at Clint. He nodded, a smirk on his face. They had no doubt just placed a bet. "I suggest you hold on to someone," Thor warned before raising his her toward the sky. Bruce went pale and immediatley grabbed the person who was next to him. It just happened to be Steve. "Heimdall!" Thor shouted.
