Everyday Ophelia would go visit Eliott in the hospital wing. She'd mostly go alone, but sometimes Draco, Pansy and/or Blaise would come with her.
Madam Pomfrey healed Pansy's ankle as quickly as you can say "Quidditch". Which was lucky for Pansy, considering how many flights of stairs they have to climb just to get to class.
Harry and Ron would visit Hermione once a week and change her flowers every time they'd dry up.
Today Ophelia was alone. Caressing the petrified boys hand as she just stared into space, hoping Madam Pomfrey and Professor Sprout would walk in with the Mandrake Draught ready.
But like everyday, Madam Pomfrey says that it isn't ready and the Mandrakes still need maturing.
Ron and Harry walked in while Ophelia was in the hospital wing. They replaced Hermione's now brown and shriveled flowers with new white ones they must've gotten from Professor Sprout.
As Harry sits on the edge of her bed, he, too holds her hand, noticing a little balled up paper in her petrified hand.
"Ron, this is why Hermione was in the library the day she was attacked" Harry says, reading the crumpled paper
Ophelia finally looked up at the boys, she realized she had given Hermione the paper right before she was petrified.
She felt her heart stop and quickly looked away, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, trying not to look suspicious.
"This is it, the monster in the Chamber of Secrets is a basilisk. That's why I can hear it speak, it's a snake." Harry quietly explains
"But if it kills by looking people in the eye...why isn't anyone dead?" Ron asks
Harry looks at the window behind Hermione's hospital bed, seeing both him and Ron in the reflection
"Because no one did look it in the eye. Not directly at least" Harry realizes
It was all coming together for Ophelia as she eavesdrops on their conversation
Mrs.Norris must've seen the reflection through the water on the floor that one day after dinner.
Colin Creevey saw it through his camera the day Potter broke his arm.
Justin Flinch-Fletchey was found in front of Nearly Headless Nick, he must have seen it through the ghost.
Nearly Headless Nick is ghost, meaning he can't die again.
Granger had a mirror in her hand when she was found, she must've saw the basilisk through it.
They say Eliott was found in front of a mirror, he must've been fixing his hair or checking himself out .
Ophelia chuckles to herself
Yeah, he has the tendency to do that
When she looks up, the two Gryffindor boys were long gone, so she also decided to go back to her common room before curfew
"All students are to return to their house dormitories at once. All teachers to the second floor corridor immediately" Professor McGonagall announces
Ophelia gets up from the chair next to Elliott's bed and quickly walks out of the hospital wing before Madam Pomfrey scolds her for still being there
She goes downstairs to the Slytherin common room, it's dark, darker than usual, meaning everyone has gone off to bed.
As she's quietly heading upstairs to the girls room she catching a blonde haired boy sitting by himself
