(Author's POV)
The day Ophelia has been dreading the whole year. The second task. Her task.
Draco had been missing the whole day. So Blaise, Pansy, Eliott, and Ophelia went to breakfast together. Blaise had said that Draco didn't even come back to the dormitory last night. You could tell Ophelia was starting to get worried.
"Any bets! Place your bets!" The twins and Eliott shouted
"Come on mates, don't be shy! Two lads! Two ladies! Four go down! But will four come up?" They announced trying to get bets
"Don't be so mean" the youngest Weasley rolled her eyes as she pushes past the boys
"No one asked you, Ginevra" Eliott jokingly chuckles
"At least we didn't open the chamber of secret" he adds
"Young!" The Weasley girl shouts as Eliott, Fred and George run away
Blaise and Pansy had already left on a boat. Longbottom walked next to Ophelia, carefully giving her the Gillyweed from his pocket
"You're sure about this, Longbottom?" Ophelia asks
"Absolutely" he mumbles
"For an hour?" she asks
"Most likely," he says
"Most likely?" Ophelia repeats
"Well, there's some debate among herbologists as the effect of freshwater versus saltwater bu—" he explains
"You're telling me this now? You must be joking," she says with gritted teeth
"I-I just wanted to help" he mumbles
"Well that makes you a right sight better than Draco, where is he anyway?" Ophelia groans craning her neck, trying to spot the blond
"You seem a bit tense Ophelia," Longbottom says
"Do I?" she sarcastically asks
They finally arrive at the stands. Potter and Weasley standing close by. Potter repeating everything Ophelia needs to know.
"And don't forget—"
"I got it, Potter!" Ophelia cuts him off
Cedric, Krum, and Fleur stand next to her each waving to their friends. Moody stood on the other side. The four champions shivering from the cold, the only thing covering their body from the weather was their swimsuits.
"Welcome to the second task. Last night, something was stolen from each of our champions." Dumbledore announces
"A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie at the bottom of the Black Lake" he continues
"In order to win, each champion need only find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough," he explains
"Put that in your mouth" Moody whispers in Ophelia's ear. She immediately puts the Gillyweed in her mouth, trying not to throw it back out
As she tried to swallow the slimy plant the canon goes off with a loud boom, Moody pushes her in the water with the rest of the champions
She felt like her head was spinning, almost like a headache. Gills are growing out of her neck. Her fingers webbed together and her feet are almost like flippers.
"What's the matter with her?" Blaise asks from the surface
"I dunno I can't see her" Pansy responds
"Oh my god! I've killed Ophelia Mendoza!" Neville panics as he turns around, not facing the water
Quickly she surfaces the water again, doing a backflip. Blaise, Eliott, and Pansy cheering.
