Chapter 40

A/N: First of all, I want to apologize 'cause I didn't update this for two months. Sorry, I'm just really having a hard time in college and I don't even know what to do anymore. Anyway, I think this fic will only have less than 10 chapters left, 'cause that's what I initially planned when I started writing this fic. Sorry again and thank you! Chapter 40

 ----Shinhye's POV----

That song... "Can't Stop", what does it mean?

It's been bothering me for days, and I've been listening to the song a lot.

Does it mean anything? Can I go back to him?

"No." I suddenly spoke even though I'm alone in my apartment.

"Do I even have the right to go back there? No, definitely." I started walking in circles.

Then a flashback started playing in my mind...

"Yonghwa-ya!" I shouted and waved my hand while standing beside my window. He waved back at me and flashed a bright smile. It was 6pm and we decided to have a short walk at the park nearby.

"Wait a minute, I'll be right down." I told him.

Before I went out of my room, I put the most important thing that I need to give to Yonghwa today.

I immediately ran downstairs and outside the house.

"What took you so long?" Yonghwa asked while pouting.

I patted his head and smiled, "Sorry sorry~"

He smiled back and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, "It's alright then. Let's go!" 

He dragged me to his car and we immediately headed to the park.

The sun already set so there weren't a lot of people left in the park.

He wrapped his arm around my shoulders again and he looked at me, like he was examining something. "What?" I asked him, "Is there something on my face?"

He shook his head and looked at me like there was really something wrong, "What?" I asked again.

"Do you know what day today is?" He suddenly asked. Hah, I knew it,

"Uhhh? Saturday?" I answered, playing dumb.

"Eyyyy~ don't act innocent." He removed his arm from my shoulders and he slightly nudged me.

"What do you mean?"

His facial expression suddenly became blank, "W-what? You really don't know what day today is?"

I shook my head, "Nope, not at all. Why? Do you have a schedule today???" I continued feigning innocence.

He turned away from me and crossed his arms. "What? Did I say something wrong?" I asked him.

"No, nothing." He shortly answered.

I smiled, "Really? Then what's with that expression?" I pointed to his face, he's sulking.

"What expression?"

I pinched his face, "You're sulking, aren't you?" I teased him.

He removed my hand that was on his face, and pouted. "I'm not sulking, I'm not a kid, you know."

I looked around and saw a man selling ice cream and so I pulled Yonghwa towards there.

"Ahjussi, two please." and then I gave the other one to Yonghwa. "Now, stop sulking you elementary kid." I teased him again. 

"I said I'm not sulking." He still sounded mad. I smiled because he looked really cute.

We silently walked the park while eating our ice cream. I noticed the unusual silence and so I nudged him a bit. "Hey, seriously, is there something wrong?"

He looked at me and said, "It's for you to find out."  then he threw his ice cream cone away.

I just laughed at him, "Why are you laughing?"

 

"No, it's just that, you're really cute. You're still like the old Yonghwa, very sulky."

He shook his head, probably from disappointment. He suddenly walked faster and I was being left behind.

"Ya!! Ya!!" I shouted at him and tried to catch up. 

And when i finally caught up, I immediately pulled him closer to me and gave him a kiss on his cheeks.

"Happy birthday." I said while smiling.

He couldn't speak a word, "You actually thought that I forgot about your birthday right?" I said then pulled out my gift from my bag.

"Thank you for being born." I said while putting the gift on his wrist, it was a simple bracelet.

I saw him smiling from the corner of my eyes.

And then we looked into each other's eyes, "Thank you." He said then he kissed my forehead.

It was a short moment, but it was really memorable for me.

I found myself smiling while reminiscing. But now, it's only a memory. I can never go back to him.

I was in deep thought when I heard someone knock at the door.

"Yes? Who is it?" I asked as I opened the door.

I was surprised to see who it was.

"M-mom??"
