Dark Prince (Nico Di Angelo x Reader)

Marry Me?

So i guess this takes place when you and Nico are a bit more older.

It is in the early hours of the morning, the sun barely awake with mist and dew still evident around the small street. Nico Di Angelo quickly makes his way across the road towards the small shop tucked away at the corner of the street.

The doors are closed but the sign on the left door, say 'welcome' so he pushes the right door open, inside this shop there are tables and shelves carrying all kinds of gold and silver imaginable. There are a few people there quietly looking at the jewelry in pairs.

Nico felt out of place, but he was here on a mission. He walks towards one of the assistants sitting behind a glass case.

'Ah, Mister Di Angelo! It’s ready ' the man says with a twinkle in his eye.

'Thank you Jeff' the man quickly heads to the back room and emerges soon with a small blue velvet box in hand. 'This is her size'

Nico takes the box and opens it, his heart stops when he sees the ring, it wasn't extravagant but this was all Nico could afford, he could already imagine you wearing and he grinned. 'It’s perfect, thank.' He pays and head out as Jeff calls out a good luck.

Walking towards a darker alleyway so no one saw him shadow travel, Nico kept opening the box and fiddling with it, he was getting really nervous.

He shadow travels to CHB and is greeted by Percy 'got it?' He ask and Nico shows him the ring. Percy smiles proudly at Nico 'I'm so happy for you man. She practicing with Annabeth.'

Nico makes his way towards the arena where you and Annabeth were demonstrating different ways to defend yourselves when in combat to a small group of young demigods. He stands at the edge of the arena watching you swing your sword, a smile on his face.

He remembered the first time he had taught you how to fight, you had been bitter and confused with the whole demigod thing, taking your angry out on him as you pinned him down on the cold floor, there was just something about you that pulled him towards you.

You noticed the Di Angelo leaning against one of the many towering trees and your concentration broke. You dropped your sword, running towards Nico who in turn laughs as he pulls you into a hug.

‘Hey.’ You say breathless

‘Hi.’ Nico realizes that his voice shakes a bit out of nervousness.

You pull back frowning slightly ‘Are you ok Neeks?’

He just nods, a tight smile on his lips. ‘Can you take a break?’

‘We were just finishing off.’

‘Would you like to go for a walk?’

‘OK.’ You smile before placing a soft kiss on his lips.  

‘Gods sake (y/n)! Keep it PG!’ you heard Annabeth yell behind you playfully as you pulled away.

‘I’ll see you for the next section Annie!’ you tease, she sticks her tongue out at you in reply. You turn back to Nico as the two of you make your way to the forest, Nico turns back in time to see Annabeth mouthing a good luck at him and he smiles at all the support.

You and Nico had been walking around the forest, through the usual trail that the both you took. Nico’s nervousness had grown as the two of you fell into endless conversation.

Right now you were telling him about a restaurant that you and Piper had tried out last week. You looked at Nico half way through a sentence ‘Nico, are you really ok?’ you ask noticing him paled face and the distant look he had on his face.

Nico quickly gave you a reassuring smile ‘I’m fine, sorry what were you saying?’ You waited a few seconds before going back to your story.

Again Nico could feel the small box burning in his pocket, he looks at you lovingly as you were happily holding his hand with the light brightening your grin ‘Marry me!’

You turn towards the child of Hades shocked beyond measures. ‘What?’

Nico’s eyes widen in realization as to what he had just done. ‘I...I mean…’ he lets go of your hand, takes a deep breath and gets on one knee.

Your breath hitches as he pulls out the box.

Nico opens the blue velvet box, in it lies a small ring, silver band with two small diamonds on top. it was the most beautiful thing you had ever laid eyes on, next to Nico.

‘(Y/n).’ he takes another deep breath ‘(y/n) I have loved you from the very first time I met you, I may not have realized it at that time but I do now. I have never felt for someone as I do you, you make me happy, hell you make ecstatic. You brought me back to life.’ you could feel tears falling down your face as you looked into Nico’s eyes ‘Will you, (y/n) make me the happiest man, dead or alive and marry me?’  

You couldn’t speak and so nodded a yes as he takes your left hand in his, slipping the ring through your ring finger. You couldn't help it and a sob burst out as you grabbed the sides the smiling Di Angelo's face in for a kiss, putting all your emotions in it. ‘I love you, I love you, I love you.’

Nico laughs as the two of you pull away, his eyes red rimmed ‘I love you too.’

‘So all those extra shifts, for this?’ you ask looking at the ring in awe

Nico blushes ‘Yeah, it’s not much bu-‘you cut him off with a kiss

‘No, it’s perfect, you’re perfect.’

I'm think of making this into a kind of series

so there'll be this one where he pop's the question, then the wedding and when ya'll have a kiddo together. (thanks to justafull for the request that sparked the idea)
