Mistletoe

Nico straightened his black avatar jacket as he took one last look at himself in the mirror. Nico swallowed, why did he have to go to this party anyway? Right, because Percy had pestered and pestered him until he finally gave in.

Which he now regretted doing, maybe (y/n) will be there he though and he felt his heart race just thinking about you.

Nico took one last look around his cabin before shadow travelling to Percy's apartment.

He rang the doorbell.

The door opened up filling the silent hallway with festive music. Nico was greeted with a very happy Son of Poseidon smiling down at him with a Santa hat on his head.

'Nico!' he beamed 'I was beginning to think you were never going to show up!'

Nico shrugged 'Sorry Percy'

Percy stepped aside to let Nico in 'no problem, you should try the cake, it's BLUE!' Nico smiled, of course the cake was blue. Inside, the apartment was packed with people,

Christmas decorations covering every corner of the place. Nico's eyes quickly scanned the crown for you. No such luck, he couldn't find you.

'Nico!' a voice from across the room grabs Nico's attention, he turns his attention to the voice to find Jason walking up to him.

'Hey Jason.'

'Eggnog?'

Later

Nico had spent most of his time with Jason and the others, now however he was getting restless. He hadn't spotted you yet.

Quite suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder. 'Hey Nico!' Nico turns around a smile tugging the side of his lips as he looks at you.

you were wearing a red dress that fell just above your knees with reindeer antlers on your head.

You looked beautiful. Nico gulped. 'Hey (y/n), how have you been?'

'Awesome. See I figured you wouldn't have worn a Santa hat for the party. So' you brought your hands from behind your back, a Santa hat in them.

Nico laughs.

'Can I?' You ask gesturing to hat, Nico nods. You stand on your tippy toes to reach the top of his head as you adjusted the hat onto his head. As you stand back down on your heels Nico flicks your antlers

'Nice ears.'

You chuckle 'They're not ears! They're antlers.' You state, hands on hips a playful smile on your lips. You see Nico open his mouth as if to say something but the two of you are interrupted by Hazel who ask if she could borrow (y/n). Nico says yes, but you see a look of disappointment in his eyes.

Nico looks down, as he nervously fiddles with his hands. He was trying to muster up enough courage to ask (y/n) to dance. But he was a bit too late.

Travis Stoll had walked up to you and asked you to dance. You being the polite and kind person you were, said yes. As the two of you walked towards the dance floor, Nico felt his stomach sink with disappointment.

He was too late.

As the next song began Nico couldn't help but sneak glances at you and Travis. You looked so happy twirling around and laughing together.

'Hey man, you ok?' Jason pipes up behind Nico

'Yeah, I uh just need some fresh air.' Nico began walking towards the balcony.

As Nico passed the entrance to the dance floor to walk towards the balcony across he heard a yelp.

He turns to his left just as you came crashing into him. You had been having a twirl-off with Travis and things got a bit out of hand. You had lost your balance and tumbled into Nico.

Right under the mistletoe.

The two of you looked at each other blushing furiously than at the others staring at them, Nico's arms still around your waist.

'It's tradition! You have to kiss!' someone yelled from the crowd, Nico had a sneaking suspicion that it was Jason.

He looks back at you, his eyes apologetic 'I'm sorry (y/n).'

You smile shyly up at him 'Don't be.'

Without thinking Nico leaned down, capturing you lips with his. The kiss was only meant to be a short one, but as soon as you responded to his lips, Nico couldn't stop, enjoying every curve of your lips and the way your body was flush against his.

When the two of you finally pull apart you hear cheering all around you. The atmosphere got to you as you let out an embarrassed laugh.

You take Nico's hand pulling him towards the balcony.

'Where are we going?' he laughs

'Somewhere quieter.'
