Dark Prince (Nico Di Angelo x Reader)

Halloween

(y/n) was sitting under a tree at the entrance of the forest reading a book. The windy fall weather caused her hair to occasionally fly around her face as she concentrated on her book. In fact she was so concentrated on this book of hers’ that when her friend Piper McLean came up to her she didn’t notice until her book was ripped from her grasp.

‘OI!’ (y/n) looked up at her smiling friend ‘I was reading that…’

 Piper sat next to her pouting friend ‘you know if I was a monster, you’d be dead’

 (y/n) makes a grab for her book but Piper holds it out of reach. ‘At least put in my bookmark!’ As Piper puts in the bookmark (y/n) asks ‘so what bring you up to this wondrous part of camp?’

 Piper puts the book down and begins to fiddle with her beaded necklace ‘well, you know how tomorrow is Halloween?’

 'Uh huh’

 ‘Well, the Aphrodite cabin decided to throw a party this year…’

 'And…?’ (y/n) wasn’t too sure why Piper was telling her this.

 ‘Gods (y/n)! I’m inviting you to the party. And you have to come’ She says with a bit of a glint in her eyes.

‘That doesn’t sound like an invitation…sounds more like a command. Or threat. Plus, I don’t really like Halloween…’

 Piper smiles. ‘Doesn’t matter. I’ll take that as a “see you there at 7 Piper!”’

She gets up and brushes herself off and begins to walk away ‘Whoa! No, no. I didn’t say I’d come.’ (y/n) says as she runs up next to Piper.

‘Please (y/n)!’ Piper clasps her hands together as if she were begging. ‘Nico will be there! You like him right?’

(y/n) subconsciously did a double take looking at Piper as she felt heat rising in her cheeks ‘I…don’t see how he has anything to do with this. And how on earth did you get him to go to a party?’

Piper rolls her eyes ‘(y/n), I’m a child of Aphrodite. And you are not a very good liar. Jason convinced him. So what do you say?’

(y/n) sighs in return ‘I don’t even have a costume…’ she looks at the child of Aphrodite whose eyes seemed to have light up ‘what…?’ (y/n) narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

‘I’ve got it covered.’ She says smugly.

‘Ok…but why are you still smiling like a maniac?’

Piper turns towards the confused looking girl ‘You didn’t deny that you like Nico’ (y/n)’s eyes grow wide in realization just as Piper starts to runs towards the pavilion. ‘See you tomorrow (y/n)!’

The next day

It was an hours before the party and (y/n) was taking a nap. Under the same tree. She hadn’t noticed yet that she was going to be late…seeing as she was unconscious. This part of camp was always very peaceful, mainly because not a lot of campers chose to hang out here. One camper however was in the area and noticed the sleeping girl.

Nico wondered over to his friend (y/n) only to realize as he got closer that she was sleeping with her book uncomfortably lying on her face. He chuckled lightly too himself. She actually looked quite adorable. He carefully removed the book trying to prevent her from waking up.  However (y/n) did wake up.  She was in a dazed state for a few seconds before realizing what she had done. She looked towards the setting sun ‘Shoot! I’m late!’

‘Late for what?’ Nico asked casually, causing (y/n) to yelp in surprise, she was probably still half asleep.

‘Nico…What are you doing here?’ she asks as she clutched her beating heart.
