Christmas Shopping

You and Nico raced into the mall, skidding to a stop as the two of you looked around.

'Think we should start from the right?' He ask, you grab his hand and head to the first shop on the right.

It was the 22nd of December and both you and Nico had some last minute shopping to do, literally. The mall would be closing in exactly an hour and the two of you had a lot of people to get gifts for. You were extremely stressed.

You scanned through the racks of clothing, trying to find something for your Aunt who was coming over on Christmas day. 'Ugh! Why is she so hard to shop for?' you exclaimed.

'maybe we should just get her some socks.' Nico joked

'I am seriously considering that...'

50 minutes later the two of you were in the final store, it was very big and had different floors for different sections, the ground floor was the food section and the first and second were dedicated to clothing.

You had just spotted a dress that one of your cousins would like. 'Nico! I'm going to go try this on, i'll only take a minute,'. You shouted across the women's section as you ran into the fitting rooms, you're cousin was around the same size as you so you quickly put on the dress and zipped it up furiously.

You looked at at yourself in the small mirror. It looked good. 'Great!' you let out a relieved sigh at your luck. It was a great dress and it was the last size that would fit your cousin. You turn to your left side where the zip is and try pulling it down. It didn't budge. 'Shoot!'

You tiptoed out of the empty fitting room looking for Nico, as you disappeared behind racks of clothing, the security guard walked in making sure there was no one else left in the store before locking the doors.

You found Nico in the men's section looking at a few winter coats. 'Nico!' you whisper at him as you ran to him, he turns towards you a smile breaking out on his face.

'(y/n)! You look beautiful!' you blush slightly at the complement.

'thank you, but we're got bigger issues...'

'what's wrong? Monsters? Are you hurt?'

'i'm fine, but I can't get out of this dress.'

'what?'

'The zip' you say showing him 'won't budge!'

'Let me try.' Nico takes the little zip and tries to pull it down as you stand with your arms crossed. 'what's wrong?'

You pout 'This is not the situation in which I imagined you unzipping my dress.' Nico laughs as he tries one last time before putting his arms around your waist and pulling you into a hug.

'Don't worry about it, we'll just find someone who can help us get you out of it.' you nod an alright and the two of you take off to find help.

You were walking across the men's section when the lights flickered off causing you and Nico to stop on your tracks. 'Are they-' you were interrupted by a loud banging sound downstairs. Your eyes go wide. 'Nico...?'

'Yeah, I think we're locked in.'

'Shoot!' the two of you run down the escalators towards the front door, but you were too late. There was no one around the store. You and Nico were locked in a mall.

'What do we do?' Nico ask panic in his voice

'ok, first we have to get me out of this dress. Then you can just shadow travel us out of here.'

'Oh yeah...' you chuckle at his realisation face

'Come on Ghost King,'

The two of you spent some time trying to get the zip to work without breaking it but nothing worked. Finally accepting defeat you headed over to one of the cashers, pulled the tag off the dress and placed some money alongside the tag on the table to pay for it.

'Right. Home?' you asked Nico.

'I'm actually kinda hungry, think they'd have any snacks downstairs?'

'definitely!'

As the two of you walked through the endless aisles of junk food you noticed two lonely trolleys and an idea popped into your head.

'Hey Nico,'

'Hmm?'

'Wanna have a trolley race?' you ask your face bright with excitement.

'(Y/n), your wearing a dress!'

You raised an eyebrow 'Then i'll kick your butt in a dress.'

He laughs 'is that a challenge hon?' he ask mockingly

'You bet-ya babe.' you reply in a sickly sweet voice.

Both you and Nico race to the trolleys, grabbing one each and positioning yourselves at one end of a food section.

'Ready. Set-'

'GO!!' you screamed as you shot forward. Once you'd gained a lot of momentum you leaned on the trolley handle, lifting your feet off the ground as the trolley skidded across the lane with Nico hot on your trail.

Once at the end you do a little victory dance as Nico comes striding up to you.

'You cheated (y/n)'

You grin cheekily, backing away from him. 'you didn't say anything about rules. Love.' you run off as Nico chases you across the many aisles laughing every time he misses you.

You finally stop at the chocolate section, breathing heavily and curious as to where Nico was hiding. The quite literally out of the shadows he emerges, tackling you to the ground.

You let out a small giggle as you look up at him. 'Hiya,'

'Hmm, it's a good thing you're cute (y/n)' he says before kissing you. You hum happily, all stress from the day forgotten as you kissed him back

Nico gets off you and helps you up. 'Come on, we should get home.'

'Yeah,' you say failing to stifle a yawn 'you're probably really tired.'

Nico just laughs as the two of you grab your things and he shadow travels the both of you home.

Not in the morning. Weird.
