"Babe guess what?" Kendra says over the phone, sounding so excited.

"What?" I ask with a small smile on my face, folding the clean clothes I just took out from the laundry.

"So this is a surprise and I'm not suppose to be telling you anything about it but-

"But we all know you can't keep your mouth shut especially when it comes to surprises and when it comes to me" I cut her off, chuckling along with her at how accurate that is.

"Yes. Exactly."

"So what's the news?"

"I'm moving back!" She squeals, clapping her hands over the phone like a five year old girl who has just been given both candy and cookies.

"Moving backkk to where?" I ask slowly, halting my movements.

"Carlifornia. I'm coming back and I'm enrolling in Stanford University, to complete my third year in Bio Chemics" she says and I sigh

"Jo, are you not suppose to be happy for me?" She asks, using the pet name she has for me which she got from my surname, Johnson.

"I'm happy for you Kendra. And I'm happy that you have decided to come back home, I truly am, don't get me wrong"

"But?" She asks and I sigh again.

"But Kendra you have just a year to finish your course. Don't you think moving back home to continue will just make it take a bit more longer and even confuse you? Besides, what about your relationship with James?"

"I broke up with him. I caught him cheating when some girl texting him saying she misses his dick and big rough hands. I want to gag just recollecting it. I mean can you believe he was sleeping with another girl behind my back and that too fucking her bare?"

Kendra has no filter.

"Woah..."

"Woah you say. I kicked him out of the apartment and burnt every piece of clothing he has, including the one I bought for him. He should go to that mother fucking bitch to get him a roof over his head like I did"

"So this is why you want to come home? Because you need someone to help you pay the rent?"

"Baby girl this is why I love you" she makes kissing sounds making me crunch my face up "You know I have my student loan to get off my back, and so I don't need another thing like the rent dragging me along. But I couldn't stand another sight of James and that is why I kicked him out"

"I don't blame you, it was your decision. If you still want to come over fine, but make sure it's for all the right reasons"

"I mean getting to not pay all the rent is right enough reason if you ask me. Besides, we'll be going to the same university because you take medical school classes at Stanford too am I right?"

"You are"

"No biggie then"

"I have a spare room you can occupy. I don't have a problem with you coming. I just wanted to make sure you were making the right decision"
