"Votre Altesse, il y a quelqu’un ici pour vous voir, vous et toute la famille royale"
The butler says and I furrow my brows in thought.
[Translation: Your royal highness, there is someone here to see you and the whole royal family]
"Qui est cette personne qui exige l’attention de tout le monde?"
[Translation: Who is this person that requires the attention of everyone?]
"Il a dit que c’était ton frère Ton Dieu"
[Translation: He said you is your brother Your Highness]
Ridiculous. I scoff inwardly.
"Bring him in and go and get the rest of the family" I say and he nods before leaving.
My brother? But I have got no brother. After all the things I have to go through and all the things I have to think of, I can't believe this happens to be part of it. If Eulalie and I had a brother, I am most certain that both our parents would have told us.
"What is going on?" Eulalie asks when she enters along with mother and father into the Royal Court Room.
"Well, a man is here calling himself our brother, and I think that is absolutely ridiculous but-
"Send him in!" Mom yells and I look at her in confusion
"I have already instructed them to send him in but calm down will you, why do you look so pale all of a sudden and why do you sound so angry, frustrated and agitated?"
She is not able to answer any of my questions before a man walks in, and I lose my breath when I stare at mom and stare at him, the striking resemblance throwing me off balance. It is a good thing I am seated. I hear a gasp come out of Eulalie, no doubt imagining the same thing.
If I thought I looked like dad, then I must be a joke because this man looks so much like mom it's frightening.
"Um... bonjour?" He greets in a questioning manner, pulling all of us out of our lost reverie.
"I'm sorry. I am not so good with my french" he apologises.
"That's alright. After my son came home, we have been speaking more English than ever" dad says and he relaxes "Sit" he commands and the man does just that.
"I have heard some ridiculous news that you are my brother" I speak up "And I must admit it's one odd thing. Care to explain?"
"When I was three, I was abducted, and that was the last time I saw my parents" he says, flicking his eyes towards both mother and father "They took me out of this country, travelling across the continent, to prevent this kingdom from having an heir because they were convinced I was going to be the only male child the King and Queen could conceive."
"And you say you were three then, so how do you know all this?"
"The people who kidnapped me were all men, but they had a woman there, an elderly woman who tended to their wounds most often than not, I stayed with those criminals for two years before the woman carried me one night and ran away with me. I've been living with her since. She died recently of brain tumor and told me the truth, that it is time I returned to my rightful home"
"How do we believe you? I must say you have a convincing story but afterall, this may just be a scam to exploit money from us"
"I am thirty now. If I wanted to exploit money from you, I would have done it the instance I knew how to count dollars. I am just here to make myself known because that is what Nana would want" he says and I suppose Nana is the one who took care of him.
"When my son was abducted, I had the notice from an unknown source that one of his fingers were cut off" mother finally speaks up, and both Eulalie and I turn to give her accusing looks. How could they not have told us?
"It was." He says, removing something from his finger to reveal a pretty much non-existent one. A prosthetic finger "This is just something to cover up and bring some sort of normality. It wasn't easy when it got cut off, it itch and stung like hell, but I guess after a few years it's better now. It only itches from time to time" he pauses before fixing the finger and looking back at us "If you wish not to accept me I would understand. I am not here to claim anything anyway. Like I said, Nana would want me to show myself and that is why I am doing this, fulfilling her wish because she was the closest thing I had to a mother" he says and mom burst out in sobs "I have nothing else to show or proof that I am truly the son of the King and Queen, unless perhaps a DNA test if you want to conduct one yourselves"
Both my parents sigh before dad speaks up, "The resemblance you have to the Queen doesn't need to be questioned, you truly are our son. But just for confirmation and to erase all doubts, you will stay in the palace until we conduct a DNA test"
"I am sorry but-
"You really didn't expect us to let you go after such a revelation did you?" Mother asks, and that shuts him up. She calls for the maids to show him his chambers.
And as they lead him there, the only thought that crosses my mind is:
This could finally be my chance to be with Eufy again.

Shocker huh? A brother? I wasnt expecting that.
Anyway, are Ale's thoughts true? Can this be a chance for him and Eufy to be together again? And how?
