"You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth"

- William W. Purkey

Eufy-Loviette Johnson POV

A beeping sound resonating around the room wakes me up from my slumber. I pry my eyes open painfully, a low groan escaping my dry lips when I feel the instant headache. My head at pounding at a different level. I've had a hangover before. But never this hard.

"Lovy, thank God you're awake. My baby is awake" I hear my mom's voice and send my gaze to her location. She has bags under her eyes, as if she hasn't slept for days. And what is she doing here? In my apartment?

Unless I look around and realise I'm not in my apartment. I'm in a hospital room.

"Goodmorning Ms. Johnson. How are you doing?" The doctor who comes in asks.

A very hot doctor may I add. Sky blue eyes, perfect blonde hair, sharp jaw, great biceps. All good in simplicity. I can't believe I'm lying on a hospital bed and I'm checking the doctor out, when my head is pounding and I don't remember anything that happened last night after I left the bar. Which I should try to do so.

"Not good. My head hurts so bad. And I feel a bit dizzy" I complain

"Yes. Uh... You were drugged with a substance called rape drug. Before I move on further, do you recall anything from the past three days?" The doctor asks and I gasp

Three days?! I've been here for mother effin' three days?!
Wait? How? Why?
The last time I checked I went to the bar, how did I end up in the hospital for three good days?

"Yes sweetheart. You were unconscious when I got the call and came here. And you've been lying still ever since. It's by grace you're awake. Now answer the doctor's question." My mom answers making me I realise I spoke out loud

"Uh no? I don't really remember anything apart from the fact that I was with my friends in a bar, drinking, and then I decided to leave." I narrate, forcing myself to try and remember if anything else happens, but the action increases my headache and I come up blank.

"Fortunately you're awake and you'll be able to go home soon. Just a few tests. Please excuse me" he says and leaves me alone with my mom

"Oh Lovy, you have got to be more careful." Mom scolds softly

"I know mom and I'm sorry. At least I'm here and safe and I wasn't raped. Hallelujah."

"Why did you go to the bar anyway? I thought your Fridays were spent with Mateo" mom says and I snort, to which she raises a brow at. Mateo and I always used our Fridays to spend time together and catch up on our whole week. I'll always pause the movie we'll watch and hear him rant and complain about people he doesn't like and how his week went, but after that, forget my week, he wouldn't even ask me how my day went, he'll lose any interest he has in the movie and go back to scrolling through his phone and smiling, as though he was happy talking to someone else who wasn't me. At a point I thought he was cheating, and up until now, I still think that way.

"The jerk broke up with me. For no apparent reason. So I went to drown my sorrows."

"Good. I always told you that he wasn't good for you but you never listened. Next time have some good tastes in men. Like your mama" She says with a wink with a sad smile
