Lilly woke up at the slobbering of Daisy, who once again sought to lick Lilly's face to get her to wake up.
"Ugh... gross.. Daisy, I'm up, I'm up." She sighed out in disgust as she sat up and gently pushed her four legged friend off of her. Lilly stretched, and sat there for a moment while she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. After a few moments her door opened and in came Nurse Sowon with Daisy's leash.
"Ah, we're up. And how are we feeling today Princess?" Sowon asked her. Lilly took a moment, tilting her head back and thinking about how she felt.
"Well..." She paused, looked over at Sowon and pulled her covers back. She swung her legs over the side of her bed and scooted forward more. "Let's see." She pushed herself off the bed and felt the cool tile floor beneath her feet. She stood and waited a moment, Nurse Sowon had called Daisy over and hooked her leash up to her harness.
"Well, you're standing at least." She commented as she looked over Lilly.
"I think.. I think I'm okay. We'll see how long that lasts." She chuckled before reached up and stretching again.
"Do your morning exercises, and I'll have Yuju bring you your breakfast while I take Daisy out and then get her fed." Sowon said, Lilly nodded and gave a soft smile as she continued to stretch. As Sowon left with Daisy, Lilly finished up her morning stretches and moved onto her other strengthening exercises. Once she was done she showered and changed into some shorts and a short sleeved v-neck top, not thinking anything of it. She sighed as she noted her shirt lifted a little much when she raised her arm up but she didn't care too much and exited the bathroom to be greeted by a yummy smell and sight.
Yuju left her breakfast for her and had returned with her drinks. A glass of orange juice and a bottle of water. Her breakfast was a hearty Sausage and ham omelet with cheese, some toast, and a fruit cup. Lilly smiled brightly and bounced onto her bed. She dug in as Yuju set out her drinks and some napkins for the girl.
"Someone's feeling good today. I thought your eyes were going to pop out of your head when you saw what we made special for you." Yuju teased. Lilly chuckled with a mouth full of food. She chewed, humming little sounds as she savored the taste. Lilly usually skipped breakfast, if she did want breakfast it was something light. But today she was glad to see a bigger breakfast than usual.
"So why the good food today?" Lilly asked.
"Dr. Kwon said your levels have been okay since you... you know. And he thinks you deserve a treat for doing so well. Also.. and you didn't hear it from me, but.. a certain med student told him it might be nice to give you a good breakfast." She giggled as she told Lilly.
"Well it's not like you starve me.. but I can't usually eat a lot.. but I don't know. It might be the new medicine. I'm hungry." Lilly said to Yuju as Yuju quickly took out her note pad and jotted it down.
"If it is the new medicine then that's good. I'll let the Doctor know. I'm sure he'll be pleased." She smiled and kissed the top of Lilly's head as she headed out. Lilly was almost done with her meal when Sowon came back with Daisy.
"Whoa, someone had a big breakfast... and ate almost all of it?" She commented. Lilly smiled with a mouth full of food and nodded.
"m fill eat n'" Lilly replied with her mouth full.
"I can see that. Daisy wanted to play, but I've got work to do so I'll have to come back later and take her out for a bit longer." Sowon said as she left Lilly to finish her meal.
As the day went on Lilly felt good, she talked with her friends online, played a few games with them. Gossiped to her friend Kira about the Med student and how thanks to him she got a good breakfast. All while she was having her very good day- Down in the lab things were going pretty okay for Seokjin as well.
"You see these two cells here?" Dr. Kwon asked.
"Mhm." Jin replied.
"These two cells seem fine right now, because these are normal functioning cells. Now.. look at this slide." Dr. Kwon put another slide under the microscope and moved back so Jin could have a look.
"Wow." Jin replied. "They're... they look alike but not, and they're attacking each other." He said in amazement.
"Right. Those are the same two cells as the first slide. Normal human cells... however the cells in slide two are from a particular human." Dr. Kwon said. "Do you know who?" He asked the med student.
"These, the fighting cells. They're Lilly's, right?" He answered, but was a little unsure.
"Correct. We don't know why but her cells act up like this. Both sets of cells are hers... but captured at different times. Strange, isn't it?" Dr. Kwon was use to this, however the future Doctor was still unsure about it all as he'd never seen anything like this before.
"All these patients here.. their illnesses are strange." Jin replied, looking over Lilly's cells. Again.
"Very true. For most of them we can find multiple medicines that keep things under control- or in some cases, cure them. However there are a few that we've just not cracked the case on yet. Lilly is one of those patients. We've been trying for years, which is why I've been eager to find another brilliant mind to help me solve our little Princess's problem." Dr. Kwon said, Jin nodded in agreement.
"I hope to be that Doctor for you, and your patients." Jin replied. Dr. Kwon patted him on the back and the two got to work. Both men eager to help everyone they could.
Lilly was still riding on her energy burst from her large breakfast. She was sitting on a stool in the craft room and painting- or trying too. Daisy of course was laying beside her and watching her.
"Just a little more yellow there... and some goldenrod color here... and maybe a little brown too, your eyes are brown and they're very lovely Daisy." Lilly thought out loud to her four legged companion.
"Knock Knock." Yuju said as she entered the room which was devoid of it's usual craft goers- it was movie day so most every patient who was mobile was in one of the three movie rooms.
"Hey Yuju! I'm painting Daisy- so what do you think?" Lilly asked with a bright smile, Yuju smiled as she was happy to see Lilly having a very good day indeed.
"It looks lovely. A little lopsided on the ears, but not bad. You're getting better and better." She replied.
"It's only lopsided cause Daisy kept turning her head at me." Lilly pouted a bit. Yuju chuckled and shook her head at the girl.
"Come on, I think you should pack it up for the day- You need to decide on your dinner tonight and it's already almost five." Yuju said as she started to put the caps back on the bottles of paint. Yuju pouted but nodded along and started to clean up. Daisy helped too, by supervising. Once they were done picking up they headed back to Lilly's room where Daisy hopped up on the bed and laid down. Lilly and Yuju went over to the exam area and Yuju did a quick check on Lilly's vitals.
"Still all clear. I'd say we can certainly put today in the good day box." Yuju said with a soft smile.
"It's a box that seems to be shrinking, but I'll take it. Thanks Yuju." Lilly replied with a smile. The two hugged and Yuju left to get Lilly the dinner menu. Lilly put on some music and started singing and dancing, enjoying not being in pain, out of breath, and being able to move around freely... even if she was still being cautious with her movements, she was having fun, and that is what mattered most.
