With the days of Lilly being up and active passing by, she knew it would be a matter of time till those bad days struck her again. So as another week passed and Friday morning came, she wasn't surprised to awaken with a familiar pain through her body. Daisy was up at her side, slowly licking at her arm. Lilly couldn't smile though she wanted to at her four legged companion. The pain was causing her to do nothing but stay perfectly still. She looked at Daisy and tried to speak to her to give her instruction.
"Daisy... button... button." Lilly managed to get out. Daisy sat up, looking at Lilly. As it the simple instruction finally caught her attention, Daisy hopped off the bed carefully and went to the red button on the remote... the remote that Daisy left on the bedside table. Daisy nosed it and the familiar beep sounded. Daisy got back up on the bed and Lilly shut her eyes to wait.
Lilly couldn't move much all day. This news finally made its way to Jin, who had been sorting files for the Doctor and re-labeling some samples in the lab. He hadn't gotten the chance to visit Lilly at all. When he got a break after he was done with labels he made his way upstairs to Lilly's room. He knocked, Nurse Sowon answered and let him in. Lilly was just laying there, squinting and breathing like she was in pain... which she was.
"Everything okay?" He asked.
"She'll be alright. But we have to monitor her, she's having a bad day it seems. I have to take Daisy out... but-"
"Oh, I can stay with Lilly if she'd like.. to help." Jin offered quickly. Sowon smiled and nodded.
"Lilly? Jin's going to stay, is that alright?" Sowon asked her and Lilly just stared at her ceiling and nodded just slightly. Sowon bowed slightly to Jin and hooked Daisy's leash onto her harness.
Jin could tell it wasn't a time for talking. So he pulled the chair closer to the side of Lilly's bed and just reached his hands out to hers. She didn't pull away, she didn't speak. Jin just held her hand between his hands, rubbing his top hand over hers slowly. He was trying to comfort her, let her know he was right there if she needed him.
Slowly he spotted a tear make its way down the side of her face. He wanted to hug her, to tell her it would be alright. But he couldn't, he knew no words would be enough right now.
He stayed with her, by her side as long as he was able to.
The next day came and Jin was on the phone with Namjoon, getting ready to go check on Lilly.
"Aw man, that sucks. That girl really has it rough huh?" Namjoon was concerned, he didn't like seeing people suffer, or hearing about it.
"Yeah. Um.. I don't think we'll be able to hang out tonight though. I might stay at the hospital if they'll let me." Jin replied.
"That's fine, I have a hot date anyway." Namjoon answered with a grin coming through his tone.
"Oh? Well that's good."
"Yup. It's a mostly blind date. I don't know much about him but he's a year younger, he's cute, sexy, and lovely according to a mutual friend of ours. So I'm pretty excited." Namjoon informed Jin.
"Well have fun, but you know... be safe and all that too."
"Dude, how easy do you think I am?" Namjoon asked with a slight chuckle. Jin laughed a bit and shook his head.
"Well, I'm gonna get going. I want to stop and bring Lilly something." Jin said.
"Alright, we should hang tomorrow. Unless you're going to be there again... or maybe I could meet this Lilly? Only if she's down for it though." Namjoon asked. Jin chuckled a bit.
