-The War of the Five Kings-
299 AC
The Green ForkThey had received word that Lord Stark was arrested and that his 15-year-old son, Robb had mustered a host of 20,000 men and was marching south.
Valyria had ridden with Lord Tywin the next day as they marched to the Green Fork where Robb would be crossing. Valyria was now sat in a war council. She was wearing the Lannister officers' armor that Lord Tywin had given her, rather than her kingsguard Targaryen armor.
"Our scouts tell us the Stark host is moving south from the Twins. With Lord Frey's levies in tow. They're a days march north." Ser Kevan, Lord Tywin's younger brother, spoke. "The boy may lack experience and sense but he does have a certain mindless provincial courage." Lord Tywin criticized as Tyrion strode in and plopped himself to Valyria's right.
She looked up and flashed him a smirk as he poured himself some wine. "Oh do continue, I didn't mean to interrupt," Tyrion said grasping his now filled goblet. "I do hope your savages are going to be of some use, otherwise we've wasted good steel on them." "The great hairy one insisted he must have two battle axes, heavy black steel, double-sided." Ser Kevan stated rather annoyedly.
"Shagga likes axes," Tyrion replies nonchalantly. "When the battle commences, you and your wildlings will be in the vanguard." Lord Tywin spoke looking at Tyrion. "The vanguard?" Valyria questioned " Me and the tribesmen on the front lines?" Tyrion asked, "They do seem rather ferocious." Ser Kevan commented.
Tyrion looked to his uncle "Ferocious? last night, a Moon Brother stabbed a Stonecrow over a sausage. Three Stonecrows seized the Moon Brother and opened his throat. Bronn managed to keep Shagga from chopping off the dead man's cock, which was fortunate. But even still Oalf is demanding blood money, which Shagga and Gunthar refuse to pay."
"When soldiers lack discipline, the fault lies with their commander," Tywin stated, tired of his son's story. "Surely there are ways to have me killed that would be less detrimental to the war effort?" "There will be no more discussion on the matter," Tywin said, silencing his son. "It appears I'm not hungry after all, excuse me my lords, my lady," Tyrion said, bowing to the group. He then stalked off. Silence engulfed them once more.
