-The Red Viper of Dorne-
300 AC
Kings LandingIt had been a week since Joffrey's death, and Valyria still had not been to see Tyrion. She knew he didn't do it. Sure he hated Joffrey but who didn't. She did have a feeling the Tyrells were involved but had nothing to prove it. She had refused to go to the Sept to mourn the fallen king. She was busy handling the walking hell-storm that was Cersei and all her paranoia about Tommen as an excuse.
She had finally managed to get down to the dungeons and take off the ridiculous gold armor. She found Tyrion warming the same black cell she had all those years ago. "You know I stayed in this cell once." She said breaking the silence.
"A token of Robert's respect for my family." Tyrion just remained silent. "I know you didn't do it. Don't feel so glum. You'll get out of this, eventually." She spoke truthfully.
"Yes, eventually. When Cersei has my head on a spike." He said sadly. "Who's been to visit you?" "You." "Jaime hasn't come by yet? Nor Bronn or Podrick?" He shook his head.
"I'm to meet with an old friend today, who is also supposed to be one of your judges, or so Varys told me." She smirked at her friend. "I don't think you could help. All of my judges have it out for me. My father has always wanted to get rid of me, Mace Tyrell will do as my father says, and Prince Oberyn hates all Lannisters."
"I'll get you out of this, somehow. I promise." She whispered Tyrion smiled softly. "Thank you Valyria. You've always cared about me, since the day I met you, you were always kind." Valyria smiled and crawled over to hug Tyrion. "I'll bring some wine next time." With that, she left for the gardens.
She saw the Prince of Dorne in a pavilion overlooking the Blackwater. He wore a yellow tunic with yellow suns embroidered and his jet black hair fell to his shoulders.
"Prince Oberyn." Valyria greeted. The prince turned around once he saw who had called his name, he smiled. "Princess Valyria." He said in a thick dornish accent. "You mustn't call me that anymore." "And why not? You were born a princess of the Seven Kingdoms, just because the Lannisters or Baratheons took the crown doesn't change your birthright." Valyria smiled at his words.
"You haven't changed. It's been nineteen years since I last saw you. Elia's wedding. She looked so beautiful that day." "Yes, she did. And not a day goes by that I don't miss her... Tell me why are you Tywin Lannister's pet?" Valyria's anger resurfaced, "Zaldrīzes dohaeriros iskos daor. You should know that Oberyn. As to why. They are the closest thing I have to a family."
Oberyn gave her a pointed look. "You have a sister. Across the narrow sea. Who's now Queen of Mereen." Valyria knew all about Daenerys. Varys has told her all about her little sister. How she was married to a horse lord, how she killed Viserys after he went mad, how she hatched three dragon eggs and was named the mother of dragons, how she sacked Astapor, Yunkai, and Mereen gaining the Unsullied in the process. The elder Targaryen even saw Daenerys in her dragon dreams.
Valyria knew of her sister but she doubted her sister knew of her. "Yes, I know about Daenerys. But I've never met her. Lord Tywin, Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion are the family I have now." "The Lannisters killed Elia. Tywin Lannister ordered her death. The deaths of her children. Do you know what Gregor Clegane did to them?" Valyria remained silent and looked down at the ground, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Even during her time in the black cells she knew the gruesome end, the Princess of Dorne faced. She felt Oberyn's fingers underneath her chin, forcing her eyes to meet his. "They ripped her babe from her arms and smashed his head against the wall. Then Amory Lorch ripped little Rhaenys out from under her father's bed and stabbed her half a hundred times. And my sister. Do you know what they did to her? First Gregor Clegane with the blood of her children still on his hand-" "Don't you dare talk to me about loss!" Valyria screamed at Oberyn tearing her face out of his grasp.
"You may have lost a sister, but I lost my entire family! Rhaegar for as stupid as he was, was still my brother, Viserys, my mother, Elia, Rhaenys, Aegon, and my father... I killed him, Jaime may have stabbed him in the back but I slit his throat to end his reign of terror. And I still lost everyone!"
Oberyn's face went from angry to stunned. "Yes, I did it. Jaime wouldn't let me take the blame and he blamed himself as well. I sent a handmaiden, one who could fight to take Elia and her children out of the city. She died protecting them! So don't lecture me on loss for you haven't felt the full fury." With that Valyria left, leaving the Prince of Dorne speechless.
