-The Stag and the Lioness-

284 AC
Kings Landing

Soon the day of the wedding arrived and to Valyria's surprise she was allowed to attend, she guessed that was Cersei's doing. In preparation, Valyria made sure to look presentable for her friend. She chose to wear a deep red leather jerkin with black threads embroidered into the shape of squares covering the sleeves, black breeches, and black boots to match. She then braided her hair from the top of her head down to the mid-back of her head, where she then tied it off leaving a small hanging loop. Once she was ready she knocked on her door and the guards outside opened it for her. They proceeded to follow behind her as she made her way to the gates, where Jaime and a carriage awaited her. The ride wasn't a long one to the Great Sept of Baelor where the ceremony would be held. Once they arrived Jaime helped Valyria out of the carriage much to her displeasure. Once they entered through the heavy marble doors, Jaime led her towards the front left where the rest of the Lannister family awaited. Soon more lords and ladies filed into the Sept from across Westeros. Tyrell, Tully, Stark, Arryn, Lannister, Baratheon, and many more were present, the only great houses not in attendance were the Greyjoys and the Martells, which Valyria understood because it was the wedding of the new King, whose rebellion had caused the deaths of Elia and her children, they must have still been mourning their departed princess.

Finally, the doors opened one final time to reveal Cersei, she was wearing a white and cream-colored gown with off the shoulder short sleeves and pearls adorning the trim of her dress. Her hair was in some elaborate southern style, (Valyria never understood why women would do such things). A rich Lannister cloak was draped on her shoulders. The sunlight behind her gave the future queen the illusion that she was glowing.

The sept doors closed and Cersei took her father's arm, the crowd grew silent as the pair walked towards the altar where Robert and the High Septon awaited them. Once they reached the altar Cersei removed her hand from Lord Tywin's arm and walked the final few steps up to her future husband. Tywin then walked down and stood next to Jaime and Valyria.

The High Septon donned in his jeweled robes spoke first "My Lords, my Ladies, we stand here in the sight of gods and men to witness the union of man and wife; one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever." He then looked to Robert " You may now cloak the bride and bring her under your protection." Robert unclipped the crimson Lannister cloak and replaced it with the yellow and black of house Baratheon, he then handed the maiden cloak to a servant off to the side.

Robert and Cersei then joined hands. Once the exchange was completed the Septon continued " Let it be known that Cersei of the house Lannister and Robert of the house Baratheon, are one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he who would seek to tear them asunder." The Septon then wrapped a ribbon around the couples' joined hands. "In the sight of the Seven, I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity." He then unwrapped the ribbon. "Look upon one another and say the words." Cersei and Robert turned to face each other. " Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger, I am his/hers and he/she is mine from this day, until the end of my days." Cersei finished with a bright smile on her face, while Robert looked utterly disinterested, he continued " With this kiss, I pledge my love." Robert then leaned in and gave Cersei the shortest and most chaste kiss he had ever given a woman before. With that, the crowd erupted in applause. The king and his new queen exited first to the cheers of both nobles and commoners alike.
