-The Tourney for Prince Viserys-
276 ACIt was the day of the Tourney, Valyria wore a red silk overshirt with dragon embroidery and a black undershirt, with black pants and matching boots. Her hair was put up more elegantly today, two plaits on the top of her head which kept the mess of silver soft curls out of her face. The rest was braided down her back, with two large chucks on either side of her ears left down in curls to frame her face. Rhaegar let her ride in front of him as they rode through the streets of Lannisport down to the tourney grounds. The people cheered as they made their way down, Valyria smiled, as they made their way to the tourney. "Will my lovely sister give me her favor for this tourney?" Rhaegar questioned as they rode, "You're such arse sometimes. . . I do hope Ser Arthur keeps his promise." she said, giggling when Rhaegar gasped in offense.
Valyria sat in the front row of the royal box so that she had the best view. Aerys sat near the top looking disinterested, Lord Tywin sat next to the King. Jaime and Cersei sat in the same row as Valyria but she made sure to distance herself from the 'golden twins', the joust started and everything went smoothly, Rhaegar beat Lord Tywin's two brothers, Tygett and Gerion; along with twelve of Lord Tywin's best knights; Rhaegar beat them all. The last match was between Rhaegar and Ser Arthur, they made several passes at one another until the Sword of the Morning launched the Crown Prince off his horse and to the dirt. The Kingsguard swiftly got off his horse and helped his friend up, an uproar arose from the crowd with Ser Arthur being declared champion. Valyria looked to her left to see Jaime in awe of what happened and Cersei looking quite distraught. Ughhh 'Lannisters' she thought to herself. Arthur mounted his horse again, now with a crown of red roses at the end of his lance. Valyria smiled at him as he rode by, giving her a curt nod. The legendary knight stopped in front of his sister, the lovely Ashara Dayne. She smiled at her brother, bowing her head in thanks.
Later that afternoon Valyria was walking through the halls of Casterly Rock when she heard someone crying. She followed the noise to the gardens, where she found Lady Cersei in tears with Jaime sitting next to her. Valyria quickly hid behind a bush "Cersei, I thought you said you didn't want anyone but me?" Jaime said angrily, "I would have been the Queen though." Valyria continued to listen in on them, curious as to what they were talking about. "I'll come to cheer you up tonight. No one will see me, it'll be just you and me." he said, Valyria heard a sniffle "I love you, Jaime." Valyria's eyes widened, she peeped her head up to see the two kissing. She decided to leave when she stepped on a twig, snapping it in half, and alerting the twins to her presence.
Valyria ran through the halls, not entirely sure where she was going; she could hear the clicks of Jaime and Cersei's shoes behind her. She dashed down a hallway and realized it was a dead end. 'Oh no' she thought, she turned to see the twins slowly stalking towards her. Jaime grabbed her arm and dragged her towards an empty room, with Cersei trailing behind him. Once inside she locked the door and Jaime released Valyria. "You should be more careful with secrets like that." Valyria said, showing no fear to the Lannister twins, Jaime opened his mouth to speak but Cersei beat him to it "She's right, we shouldn't have done that in the gardens." "Cersei, I think you're forgetting the point here. She saw us," he said worriedly. "Do you plan on killing me?. . In case you've forgotten I am the Princess of the Seven Kingdoms, and if you think making it look like an accident will work, it won't. Rhaegar knows I don't make mistakes like that." At the mention of Rhaegar, Cersei's lip quivered, new tears formed in her eyes, and Jaime rushed to comfort her. Valyria looked at her confused, "Is that why you were crying in the gardens? Because of my brother?" "You don't understand, my father attempted to arrange a betrothal between my sister and your brother. But the King refused." Jaime said as he held Cersei. Valyria sighed and shook her head, of course, her father did something unsavory. "I'm sorry. My father . . . doesn't really think about his actions that much." Jaime looked at her in surprise "I should be the one apologizing to you. I shouldn't have said those things to you. I'm sorry." Jaime said. Jaime sat Cersei on the floor, and stayed with her there, Valyria joined them. "Please don't tell our father," Cersei begged. "I won't. Half of the Targaryens had incestuous marriages. I'm rather accustomed to it." Both twins looked at her wide-eyed. "In exchange, I want us to become friends. I don't have many of those."
Jaime pondered for a moment, he didn't have much of a choice but he supposed having a friend in the Red Keep would be nice. He turned to look at Cersei, she nodded her consent. Valyria scooted towards them and extended her hand. They shook on it forming a deal. Valyria stood and turned to leave "Oh, and Cersei. I promise you I won't take him away from you. I know that was something you get upset about." Cersei wore a rare smile on her lips, "Thank you."
