3rd person pov
It was one day after the first class trial. Everyone was left shaken after witnessing teruteru be fried alive. But somehow, Kazuichi decided that it would be a good idea to profess his love to Sonia. Of course, Sonia rejected him in the politest way, but Kazuichi still felt extremely upset that the person he admired so much rejected him.

Kazuichi went to the one person that will listen to his rambles and complaints; (y/n) (l/n). Surprisingly, the ultimate mechanic and the (u/t) got along quite well, they even spent the whole investigation together.
(Y/n) was listening to Kazuichi get the rejection off his chest in (y/n)'s cottage
"I know she's royalty, I wish I would be good enough for her" Kazuichi said sadly
"Don't say that, you're great Kazu!"
"Then why was I rejected"
"Cause she couldn't see how good you are"

The two went back and forth, Kazuchi putting himself down and (y/n) trying to comfort him. Luckily, (y/n) managed to settle Kazuichi's worries and change the topic of conversation. Kazuichi admired (y/n) for how he could just make him feel better

Why do I feel so at ease around him?

Kazuichi thought about it but just couldn't seem to wrap his head around it, so he decided to let it go for now.

~Time skip~

During the next few days, Kazuichi and (y/n) got closer and closer until something happened. It was the night after the third class trial and Kazuichi heard a knock on his door.

Kazuichi Pov
I walked to the door and opened it, (y/n) was at the door looking a bit frantic and paranoid.
"(Y/n)? Are you okay?" I asked, worried for my friend
"...I-I'm scared...Kazu" he said stuttering
"Seven of our friends are d-dead... I don't wanna be alone and you're the only one I can trust..."
"Can I p-please stay in your room tonight..?" (Y/n) asked shyly

I don't know why, but I just felt the need to comfort him then, like he'd always done with me. I let him in and immediately hugged him as tight as possible, he let out a small gasp but hugged back. I patted his head, and stroked his (h/c) hair gently, his uneven breathing started to even out as he calmed down.
"Wanna lay in bed and let out your worries, I'll listen"
He slowly nodded his head, nuzzling against my chest.

We lied down on my bed, I kept an arm around (y/n) as he weakly gripped my jumpsuit. I reassured him that he'll be safe and that I'll protect him, I felt a strange need for him to be at ease.
"I... wan't...to...like..thi..." (y/n) was saying as he drifted into sleep.

He looks so cute... wait. Did i just think that!? But just looking at him sleep so peacefully makes me feel strange.

Y/n pov
I fell was falling asleep in Kazuichi's arms. I felt his warmth, he made me feel so nice calm. His arms around me felt so perfect, I was melting away.

Kazuichi is so perfect... hold on, what if I...
No no no, that'd be impossible, how could I like Kauzichi.

But the more I thought of it, more it made sense. The butterflies I feel around him, and how I magically feel better around him...
But, there's zero chance he'd like me, he was drooling over Sonia 2 weeks ago, he wouldn't even think of me in that way...

~morning~

Me and Kazu both woke up at the same time from each others movements. We were both quiet for some reason until I spoke up.
"Hey, Kazu..." "Hey, (y/n)" we both said at the same time
"Oh, you go first Kazu" I said with a small smile
"Okay..." Kazuichi said hesitantly
"I know this might not be the best time to say this but, I think.... I like you" Kazuichi said looking away with a blush. I was extatic.
"W-wha?! Really? I l-like you too..!" I said with relief and happiness.
"H-huh? Really?! That's great" he said with a large smirk that showed his sharp shark teeth as he hugged me with his hands around my waist. A sudden courage hit me as I put my arms around his neck and decided to go in for a kiss.
He seemed shocked but soon got more confident and began to take control, he pulled me closer and pushed his tongue asking for entrance. I let him in, opening my mouth.

We fought for dominance but Kazuichi won, his tounge exploring my mouth with ease. I softly moaned into the kiss, he was so warm that he made me melt.
After a few minuets (which felt like hours) I desperately broke away from the kiss for air, we were panting like dogs in heat from the heated kiss.
"T-that...felt soo.. good..." I said out of breath, my vision slightly blurry
"You taste so good (y/n), I want more~" Kazuichi said with a seductive grin. He moved his hands ,from my waist, lower and I gasped softly
"W-wait.. N-not yet Kazu.." I said with a blush
"Okay! I can wait" Kazuichi smirked, he made me feel so relieved
"I'll for 100 years as long as your comfortable! Wanna skip the meet up today and go to the beach?"
I giggled softly "sure"

We left Kazu's cottage, me wrapped around his arm. We spent the whole day in each others company at the beach, he really is the best. We sat on the sand watching the sunset, with my head on his shoulder
"I love you Kazu..."
"A-ah, I love you too, (y/n)..."
