Waking up, I was unexpectedly in my bed. Even more unexpectedly was Juliana siting in the chair next to my bed reading.
"What happened?" I whispered catching her attention. She took in a deep breath and shrugged her shoulders.
"Where to begin? It's simple. You were with Kian, had a panic attack but didn't stop, so the ambulance people gave you some calming drug, then your dad and Ryder took you here. We've been taking turns watching you." She said in a sort of indifferent voice. I've been having this suspicion for a while and now is the only time I'll be able to ask since were alone.
"You don't like me much do you?" I said with a sad smile. Juliana shrugged.
"I don't like much people. But all I'm thinking is that there's only so many problems someone can have."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Juliana stood up and sat at the edge of the bed, looking into my eyes.
"I mean, crying isn't going to solve any of your problems. You have to do more than that." She dared raising her eyebrows. "Now the question is whether or not you're going to do anything."
"What am I supposed to do? Talk to my mom? Kill her?" I asked still confused. There isn't much I can do. Right?
"That or therapy. Don't leave it bottled up." She said stepping away from me as dad opened the door. "That's all I'm saying."
"Good morning Athena, how are you feeling?" Dad asked rushing to my side. I smiled and looked down at my lap. Juliana stayed at the back of the room watching me.
"Good. I was just thinking that I should probably, maybe, if you can," I took a deep breath and looked between Juliana and dad, "therapy? I don't know."
"If that's what you want, we can do that. The police department has a free one for us and our families."
I looked over at Juliana again but she just ignored me and focused on her phone. Nodding my head, dad left to go on the phone with the therapist. Looking back at Juliana she handed me the phone.
"Nina?" Khalil asked. I smiled and took the phone from Juliana.
"It's me." I said and leaned back against my bed as Justina took the chair again.
"Thank god you're okay. You really freaked us out."
"Where are you guys?"
She paused causing me to look up at Juliana who avoided my gaze. "We're taking care of business."
"Ryder?"
"With me." She simply responded. Where are they? Why isn't she giving me a clear answer? "Jacob and Anri should be there soon. They've informed us on some information and we're just checking it out with Mark."
"Mark is there?"
Jacob walked through the door and smiled at me. Anri went to Juliana and hugged her before turning towards me.
"Yeah he's with us." Khalil said and I heard the phone get shuffled off.
"Baby?"
"Ry?" I asked feeling my heart flutter, a blush came to me face. "Why aren't you here?"
"We're taking care things. Are you okay?"
"I miss you." I whispered pulling my legs to my chest.
"I miss you too, baby. Soon we're gonna be there." He promised and hung up the phone. I gave the phone back to Juliana and looked at her through hooded eyes.
